One can hardly believe that the Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) stock was the top performer at the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE) during the 1Q of 2011, ever since hitting a 52 Week high of Sh27 early this year the stock has been on a downward spiral recently setting a 52 Week low of Sh14.80, as i write the stock is currently being quoted at the NSE at Sh14.90, it's one 1 Year return stands at -31% making it one of the worst performing banking stocks at the NSE after National Bank of Kenya which has returned -43% over 1 Year.

So what has gone wrong for the once darling stock of foreign investors at the NSE?

I sometimes in april cried for this stock to drop to 21 for me to get in but now it appears like a dream.

Even during the meltdown kcb didnt go below 15.this is a straight buy..it actually reminds of crownberger which sometimes back dropped from 40's to only 10bob but rallied within 2wks to 30

Problem with KCB is management. How can Equity with 171b make more profits than KCB which has 288b? It means KCB management have an IQ below 70%

Also factor in dilution of the share due to last year's rights issue by about 33.9%. There was also some bit of selling by the guys who were shown the door!
11 might easily print!
This is where i would come in!

Kcb is just imitating the barclays share which is now gaining. instead of much talk get busy buying it and never say the elders never guided you.
