Could it be that al-shabaab did not commit the kidnappings? It could be some other thugs in somalia. But they had attacked Mandera some time back and the govt didnt go beyond our borders then

Instead of venturing into Somalia we should have first sought to secure the border by ensuring that these heathens cannot cross over at will.

My understanding of this deployment, and as has been pointed,is that our soldiers are out to create a 100KM wide buffer zone beyond and along our border with SOM.Any other operations in pursuit of this coackroaches will be a reserve for special forces when and if needs arise.Other than that,Ethiopia is most likely to move in from the North,US allies from the sea while TG and Inisom will work from within.

@guka... same here. my only worry is how it will be sustained bearing in mind that our border with somalia is a whole 682km. however that strategy is the best.... whenever there is a conflict we sought it out inside their territory.
When I have money, I get rid of it quickly, lest it find a way into my heart.

Shouldn't moving Dadab to inside Somali be a priority as well??....And screen of aliens from within should be quick, and decisive. Those found living here illegally should be repatriated ASAP...ama?

I hope they do it quick and precise.
Go in. WORK! and then Get out. Wait for the enemy reaction. If they thumb their chests.. move in again and do a bit more damage.. then keep quite and never bother with those fellows ever again.

That way we send a message to other aggressive neighbours as well..
For annihilating Al shabab.. there cant be a better time.. famine, funding.. all scant. thats why they started this aggression to get ransom money..

Our brothers are for once risking their lives for our good and integrity.. i'm with our armed forces in this one.

My condolences to the air crash casualties..

The number of aliens in Kenya from somalia is worrying especially if there al shabab sympathisers among them. Terrosism within especially like the Kampala bombings.

I am with our brothers and I know they will teach those idiots a thing or two. However, I think the bigger threat is in Easleigh, Daadab and South C Nairobi. Here Kajwang' has failed to secure our entry points. Now the fellows can hit us from within like they tried hapo Jamia Mosque the last time.
