@ Carygoh,the GX is a good car but 25K is a mad and scandalous offer.

If I can hire (and in Kisumu of all places) a new Nissan Terrano driver incl. and pay 6,500 per day,The maximum you should pay for this car is perhaps 11,500 on the higher side. Why does your client insist on KB.......? Advice her to widen her scope.

I used to be in car hire biz 2 years ago but gave up. Guys will hire your car and you are almost certain the car will return with huge dents,scratches or just maliciously damaged. If you ever see a car being driven like a formula 1 on a road full of pot holes,then just know it's from a hire company! You can earn good money from this biz,but most of that cash ends being eaten by maintance,repairs or when the car disappears for weeks! It's a streessful jobbo,to say the least.,that's why one should have 3 cars and above to make real gains,better if loan free.

Another peculiar habit with Kenyans is when they keep asking the registration number of the car. Well,you can have a KBA which is better mechanically,drive wise,servicewise etc,than a KBD!! That's one thing Kenyans dont understand. Some KAZ are even better than KBF's!

The trick now is simple,since car hire people are aware of this peculiar habit by our Kenyan brothers,they simply buy very used,worn out cars from NGO's,Govt,Diplomats etc and have them given newer plates on registration,easy! Most Kenyans don't care about the year of manufucture,they are just obsessed with the number plate,so why not beat them in their own game?

Anything over 10k per day (24hrs) for Prado is outright rip off,indulge.

@jaribu
You took the words straight from my mouth...Thankyou!

@carygoh
Take advice from @jaribu below,he has said it all! tell your buddy the Reg doesnt matter,kuna vile sisi hufanya...even an old NGO gari will seem appealing to you:)
The Prado rate should range between 9-12k,a day,nothing more.

Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn't..

I know of a company that have a 2006 Rav new model KAX55.. that goes for 8500 per day while they have a 2003 rav4 KBH THAT GOES FOR AS LOW AS 4500 and a 2007 Prado KAY that goes for minimum 15k pd and while most KBF-JS ON THE TROADS WILL COST AS LOW AS 7K . So guys hiring cars will 8-10 yrs old junkies dressed in KBF and KBJ number plates have any compe to offer these two . Utaskia a guys saying KAX is too old while your KBJ was manufactured in 2000 and is rotting inside and out guys learn to look at the cars not the numbers
