Its the phone features that matter, not the price or the fashion statement. And the features make the ideos a smartphone. When it comes to the features, the ideos is in the league of the 1phone 4, Samsung galaxy and blackberry bold. It's interesting to note that the chinese are selling their phone at 1/5th the price that apple and blackberry is offering (8k vs 40k), and all phones basically have the same features. No wonder china is becoming the new superpower.

Here are the Ideos phone specifications.

@jaggernaut: Features aside, living with an Ideos and an iPhone is very different...battery life is crap(less than 6 hours), the touch screen is not very responsive, same for the buttons ...these become worse with time ..Huawei use sub-par components which might explain the huge price difference. But don't get me wrong, it is great value for its 7999/- price point.

My point is, it would be better to add another 8 or 7K and get a mid-range smartphone that has better build quality than the Ideos.

All phones running on android have a very poor battery life, but the secret is to stop processes running in the background if you want longer hours.

Hehe.First,...Ideos is a great value phone.I have used an Ideos(8K) and the Galaxy Ace(30K)....comparing the two is like comparing a laptop that costs 30K and that of 80K...both run Windows 7,use MS Office etc...but the look and feel is very different.

@chumachumz Turn off/manage data, gps and WiFi for greater battery life. Applies across all smart phones. iPhone & Nokia may have better life as they control both hardware and software.

Most times the bigger they are, the harder they kick your ass. smile If you convince yourself that your colleagues drive better cars or have better things because they have borrowed, you are deluding yourself (and in denial) - watu wako na pesa hii nchi.
