Speculating in the NSE at these uncertain times is tricky with an election coming up & global recession likely...2008 lessons learned?

NSE closes @3417 - down 90pts (2.57!%) for the week.

@QW - As promised. Britank closes @6.60 up 1.25 for the week a 23.4% gain... As usual @mleny takes this one for steely nerves. Sorry @QW smile

NBK - still no feet, freefall - closes @21... With the H1 losses, 15 is a realistic target! NBK fans that are trapped, hold on tight.

Update:

Mpesa has bounced 18.2% since going exdiv. @QW Mpesa exdiv short sell would have been underwater.

MSC is still up, trying to form a base like mpesa.

Sasini - 14 is still a solid barrier. Profit taking ongoing after a short bursty rally. Waiting to see if 12 will be tested for the next attempt to break 14.

HFCK - 19 - 20 is a solid barrier. Will head lower to 14.

Eqty - Needs to test 16 to confirm selling pressure. Losing the 16 support will see @qw's 13 level target.

ARM - slow motion slide. 120 would be a nice bargain.

The index looks like it may test the pin off @3357. If it bounces there we get a double bottom. A good sign. If it breaks the pin, 3000 is on the cards & these rallies will turn into premiums. Also the msc & mpesa basing support will give in & britank will tank below its low, making @5.35 look very rosy then.

Jeez! Only AK and Express have performed worse this year. (PanAfrica had a bonus so the fall ain't that bad)
If BBK or Stanchart was punished this hard...

Yap, 3417 it is. Bloomberg had not update yet. I've corrected the post above.

When functioning, mystocks is good. Do you see below 3400 next week and an end to the 'relief rally'?

panafric gave a bonus of 1:1 meaning if it traded at 100 at one point, a dip to 25 means that is 50 percent drop.

I'm looking at year to date. At 31st December 2011 it was trading at 65.50. That's a 24 percent loss taking into account the bonus. Nasty still, but that would put them way ahead of many counters

Four days of straight losses for the n.s.e. In other news, looking to make a comeback on kenol kobil. Lets see if it survives round 2 of the fall.

@youcant - Read the updated post. If 3357 is broken, 3000 is the target. If we have a nasty euroland default scenario, anything goes...!
