Was just reading the story of the governor of southern california who admitted to having an affair with an argentianian lady. His wife has helped him get to where he is today. So it made me wonder,is it better to be a long suffering wife or a mistress who gets the spoils that others have worked hard to build?

How annoying it is to see that this is debatable?

obviously it better being the wife. The toiling wife will always be there and will be always regarded first in all.

It a waste of time bieng a mistress,as you will be the second option in all matters

@Goals,The phrase is not from the Bible,but the Hebrew Talmud..........
the book where all of the sayings and preaching of Rabbis are conserved over time.

@Kasheshi,what has money or wealth got to do with the matters of the heart?

Just remember the saying that life is short,so if i get to live for only ninty years and in those years a wife or mistress makes me happy. I would choose the one that gives/ or makes me happiness/happy.

i told my girl i will never cheat on her and she didnt believe..says it will happen as long as there is a male involved......thats a line from her that i wish i never heard........ thats the 1st time i banged the door flaps.

like Renne says in another thread..why chase the 20 %.. on average meaning some just chase a % and lose the 99%..damn pple WHY?

It's unnatural for a man to be expected to live a monogamous life,you may do so but you will always be suppressing your natural instincts... I think the West's family life is nuts,and we should resist that kind of self-confining lifestyle… it is too unnatural and stressful.

@ pm if it's so unnatural for a man to be monogamous then God would have created Adam and Eve,Wangui and Atieno.

Incidentally,I can't remember the source but in olden times men were polygamous because many of the men died in the numerous wars that were forever being fought. Just read the old testament and you'll understand that there must have been an oversupply of women compared to men. So the remaining men married many wives to reduce poverty.

the issue about marriage and religion.....

has been convoluted by their supposed connectivity......

and all the while ......

we can not speak of religion.....

and,marriage....

unless there are human beings.....

the basic principle of life....

should be to strike a compromise...

between the demands of.....

others from you..

and you from others......

if you can not be monogamous......

dont marry a wife and promise to remain monogamous.....

tell her from the beginning....

that you have a propensity to share the love.....

and ladies....

sadly...

you are too many.....

seeking a shoulder to cry on.....

a hairy chest to nap on......

strong arms to hug you....

we are not enough men to go round.....

so....
