Biased opinion, but South Coast (Diani) now has more potential. Closely followed by Mtwapa...

Diani and Mtwapa? Why? Both are in south and north respectively. How about Changamwe?(Due to the proposed Dongo Kundu bypass)

my opinion is look for a place where the prices are still low whether its north coast/south coast or along dongo kundu road.

There is a place called Utange, that is one of the areas. Mtwapa is ok but not close to its town. Diani, I am not for it because the ferry makes that area commercially good for hotel business. That is my take

Kaykay-dongo kundu will take care of the ferry issue. There is also straight flights from Nai to Diani/Ukunda. Diani is good for villas/cottages. Very good.

Kaykay Utange is growing very fast. Its certainly a good deal. Is there controlled development in that area?

@Mainat, when will the project on the by-pass be complete? South Coast is cheap. I was being told that someone was getting 8 acres of land at 500k.
@Brother, I am not so sure about controlled development in the area but the place is being touted as the New Nyali although from my knowledge some of that area is abit swampy.

Mainat in your opinion, which is the best location to buy land along the proposed Dongo Kundu bypass? I thought the feasibility study for the bypass had been completed?

Its gone beyond feasibility study and has been approved, what they are now doing is figuring the impediments on the route they plan to go through.
Its 17km from Miritini to Ngombeni (near Likoni Ferry). Take your pick. If you are serious, go straight to the Diani

There is a story in the standard about the Dongo Kundu bypass its planned to start in 2014 but could be started 2013 but speculators beware if you get the wrong area you won't be compensated see this march story

Utange is a prime area. I hear an international school is to be put up in Utange. There will also be the proposed mtwapa byppass that will skirt shimo la tewa and connect to bamburi-utange road

@Brother, I think the school is Brookside. They are building it near Zawadi Apartments close to the nature trail Bamburi. The Utange-Bamburi road is already there but not very common

The school is Braeburn International School and not Brookside.

@ Mainat, Miritini Estateis a lovely(Planned by World bank)- Land prices in that area are still going up especially within the original WB scheme.

The Dongo Kundu bypass is going to make this area more expensive. The bit between miritini and mazeras along the A109 highway is a an ideal buy at this time, as transport companies will be looking for container yards. I dont know much about the actual route of the bypass...but any area closeby is an ideal buy i believe.
