Jambo Wazuans,

Am in the market searching for a double cab. Which of the three is your best choice assuming cash is not a problem?

Got a Navara but it has issues with the diff. Mechanic tells me I have to replace in about three months.

Spares are not available at DT Dobie because its ex-UK. Parts quotation from them is ridiculous.

Please advice where I can source Navara parts for ex-UK models locally.

@Julie,
Why buy a car with issues in the first place?

@Njuge
I got a very good deal. Someone desparate for cash for some emergency. He also informed me about the diff. so I was aware! Otherwise the car is in very good condition both interior and exterior.

a friend was telling me the amarok is 1900cc.tdi is it true?...that info really burst my bubble of excitement. but on a closer look...motor vehicle manufacturers have discovered that people buy big cars just to be seen in them and not for their performance. i know of friends with VX PRADOS which have never been off tamack ama offroad. VW were clever to put such a small engine in this huge vehicle.

A quick google.

2 Engines. 2L FSI Turbo & 2L TDI.

The 2.0 TDI has several tuned variants:

From wikipedia:

As of 2010, the engine range consists of two 2.0L Turbocharged Direct Injection (TDI) common rail diesel engines which is taken from the Volkswagen_Transporter_(T5), it has been tuned for more torque but less power; the entry-level version produces 90 kW (122 PS; 121 hp) which develops a maximum torque of 340 N·m (250 lb·ft) from 2000 rpm. The top of the line bi-turbo version produces 120 kW (163 PS; 161 hp) which develops a maximum torque of 400 N·m (300 lb·ft) from 1500 rpm.
Fuel consumption in a combined cycle format is as low as 7.6 L/100 km (37 mpg-imp; 31 mpg-US) on the rear wheel drive variant to 8.1 L/100 km (35 mpg-imp; 29 mpg-US) on the 4Motion theoretically giving the Amarok a 1,000 km (620 mi) range before filling up for fuel.

The VW Commercial (SA) has useful specs
