I have not seen the Uchumi numbers but top line growth at 15% is not specutacular...it must have been the inflation monster which slowed them down...the company need to sought out its governance issues I.e appointment of an independent chairman before I touch it again.

The chap is right.
CMA wants an INDEPENDENT Chairman NOT related (or appointed by) to any of the Majority/Large/Influential Shareholders so no-one from the government or its entities.

KK - Segman is an employee not related to any of the large shareholders per CMA's rules (as I understand them). I am sure if the CEO & Chairman posts could not be combined the CMA would have come out & said so.
