I know a volume spike when i sees one, that was def one by kk. Under normal market conditions it may not be, but when the market turnover is 78million and you do 40+million. it a volume spike.

I have to say, im thoroughly impressed at how KK is holding out. This just goes to show where it will be headed when the "bulls arrive" as they like to say around here

Keep waiting for the kk bull smile I'll try to start @8... Patience, patience smile

With people calling for 3,000. I hope you realise, than when we do get there. It may be far from how much lower we'll actually go. The rate at which the n.s.e is falling is so fast. We may eventually touch lows, than none had thought possible.

I saw a biz daily article where the cbk head is quoting the same rains line.
Quite a pity that rains are now a financial instrument... d'oh!

Argh... I give up. When the recession hits home hang the king...

@hisah this economy is still rain dependant. That hasn't changed. So its simple. An ease on food inflation as from Q4 as the West takes care of oil/energy inflation on our behalf and we'll be back in business as soon as Q1 2012. I bet my life on it.

imagine the cbk head of Egypt or Israel saying they are waiting for the rain to ease inflation, of all the instruments he has to contain inflation he is counting on the rain, that's pretty dumb. we might as well go back to living in the stone age and appoint a rainmaker as the next cbk governor.

the slide should continue today!!! Asian setting the pace. No jobs added in the US for August, Italy is looking too big to bail and the political pace setters in Kenya are having their day in court as headline inflation hits 16.7%. NSE down we go! I honestly feel sorry for any Britak investor...

It is advisable for market players to 1st understand how the macro-economy of the country they live/invest in works, OTW ignorance is death.

Data of NOTE:
- The pace of food inflation declined for the first time this year in August as a result of decline in prices of staples such as maize
- Power rationing slated to end this month.
-All eyes are now on the weather department prediction for the October-November short rains season which could well spark a turnaround in the economy and the market if the prognosis is good.

Like CDE, does seem hope springs eternal that inflation could be checked in 4Q 2011.

@ecstacy.that's what i'm talking about. We have to have a clear understanding of our oppurtunities and challenges at any given time. The current maize harvesting in Western & Rift will peak in Sept/Oct as the expected rains take care of the next planting season especially in Eastern & the Coastal regions which also boosts hydro but due to increased power demand we'll still run thermal. However, a Western World slowdown/recessation will see crude prices drop going forward.
