This time i was given Oflaxacine (ofla OD). The member is better now, the discharge gone and the burning sensation has disappeared but he is still tearing a little clear sticky stuff.
What is the problem doctors on wazua? Is my system resistant to antibiotics? Should i do a urine culture and how will it help??
Waiting.
you seem to be suffering from a urinary tract infection caused by multiple micro
organisms.
You have been treated with antibiotics, from the quinolone group, and seem to
hae responded to one of the brands.
I am abit concerned that a urine specimen for culture and sensitivity has not
been taken, and a blood sample for full haemogram has not been done. The
urine test tells you if you are using the right drugs, and if you may require to use
more than one type of drugs. The blood sample tells the doctor if you have an
immunity problem (other than HIV).
Should you be an airport.........ooooops! Lady, a vaginal swab for culture and
sensitivity could be a helpfull diagnostic test.
both tests increase the treatement bill significantly and the doctor may be
attempted to treat you blindly..
An anti amoebic/protozoa/ anti anaerobic bacterial agent egTINIDAZOLEcan be
added to the treatement regime.
Vaginal pessaries also provide anti fungal treatement, a minor complication of
prolonged antibiotic use.
There is a lot of information you have not provided, hence a visit to a qualified
gynae will be of great benefit.
I am amused with some of the so called home remedies......should you use
them, I fear you minght find a place in the long queue outside the infertiliy clinic....
Hoping from one doctor to the other may result into loss of "medical inteligence".
The new doctor will simply repeat the same investigations, prescribe the same
drugs and probably get the same results. Atleast stick with one doctor for six
weeks. Above all, ensure that he/ she is a gynea....
Dr. Anzetse A swani, Walter Kudoi, are some of the honourable gynaes aroun
