I got a persistent UTI, yes my landing gear, i have gone to the doctor twice, first prescribed CiproDenk (ciproflaxacine) this stuff dint work, went back and the Urinalysis results were the same as before. This time i was given Oflaxacine (ofla OD). The member is better now, the discharge gone and the burning sensation has disappeared but he is still tearing a little clear sticky stuff.

What is the problem doctors on wazua? Is my system resistant to antibiotics? Should i do a urine culture and how will it help??

Waiting.

Are you being treated alongside the airport? Even though it might not be technically classified as an STD, some of these infections require sex partners to be treated together or they keep re-infecting each other.

The doctor asked me the same, infact i have not been landed since the first prescription and have avoided alcohol and milk and milk products as per the doctors orders during treatment.

Murenj and the rest help this brother. He is a brave one and again he want to continue landing. Am told UTI can cause bladder infection, i got an email from my health insurer about UTI and i can see our brother's worries are founded.

I'm not a doc. But in the medical profession though. From the perspective of a lab tech, the symptoms point towards gonococcal infection. Males suffer from uti's but their infections generally tend to be less serious. When a urine sample comes to the lab, the indicator used in gauging infection is the number of pus cells per high power field (x40 objective of the microscope). Pus cells are white blood (body defence cells) that have "died".
Any time a male presents themselves with pus cells being over 100/ HPF (high power field), the lab guys should do a gram stain on the deposit obtained from spinning the urine in a centrifuge. Presence of Gram negative diplococci(red beanlike organisms in pairs) within the pus cells or outside is a sufficient positive result. Doing a culture may not yield sufficient results because the organism grows poorly on ordinary culture media, which is routinely used. They often do not even grow.
Treatment must be done for BOTH partners. Women rarely show signs of infection and is much harder to detect the organisms from their urine, hence serving as a repeated source of infection. The airport may look and feel normal but the moment you will land, within 48 hrs the symptoms will be back hence the need for both of you to be treated. But you need to get the confirmation from a reputable lab. Enough said.

@ Prime,
The doctor thot also it could have been gonococcal infection, but now that could have been easily treated by Doxycycline, CiproDenk and Ofla-OD which i have all tried to treat this. Its depressing.

If yu have not been landed since, it means yu are an airport = lady. You thus need to know the causes first.

Causes of Urinary Tract Infection

Urinary Tract Infections typically occur when the bladder and its exit tubes get infected due to bacteria. The most common types of bacteria that lead to UTI are those that live on the skin near the rectum, which can easily enter the urinary tract through the urethra.

Another common cause of urinary tract infections is sexual intercourse, since bacteria in the vaginal area can sometimes be massaged into the urethra by the movement of the penis. In rare cases, some women can get UTI each time they have sex.

Waiting too long to urinate is also a common cause of bladder and urinary tract infections, since the bladder can stretch beyond its capacity which weakens the bladder muscle. If this occurs often, the weakend bladder will begin to have difficulty emptying itself, which results in urine being left in the bladder that can lead to infections.

Finally, other factors such as pregnancy, menopause, and diabetes can also increase the risk of developing UTI.

Exapts

Remedy

Solution one:

One of the best home remedies for urinary tract infections is to simply drink lots of water. By drinking lots of fluids, you will force yourself to urinate more often, which will help your body flush out the bacteria that is causing the infection. A recommendation is to drink 6-8 large glasses of water per day.

Solution two:

ncreasing your daily Vitamin C intake can help increase the acidity of your urine, which can help prevent bacterial growth. Therefore, if you suffer from frequent UTIs, taking 1000mg of Vitamin C per day has been shown to be quite effective at preventing recurring infections.

NOTE: If you are taking antibiotics for a bladder infection, you should consult your doctor before increasing your Vitamin C intake since some don't work well with highly acidic urine.

Solution three:

Echinacea is an herb that contains a number of substances which help fight infections including UTI. You can either drink an Echinacea tea once per day after lunch or dinner, or consume high-quality 300mg Echinacea capsules or tablets once per day. Echinacea capsules can be found in many health stores.

Solution four:

Cranberry juice contains high concentrations of Vitamin C and Quinolic Acid, both of which are known to help treat UTI since they help prevent bacteria from anchoring onto bladder walls. Therefore, if you have UTI, drinking 12 to 24 oz of cranberry juice can be very effective. As a preventive measure against urinary tract infections, drinking at least 3 oz per day works quite well.

Concluding remarks:

After one of the above works, I would need to test land at the airport to see if all is well to avoid recurrence. I can also send a representative from Wazua to do the test landing on my behalf.

An airport cannot land on another airport unless one of them is a mobile airport.

If you are a pink African, soak the airport in saline water overnight. All the bacterias will be gone by morning.

If you are a brown African, allow landing in the airport with planes soaked in lime solution.

If you are a white African, you must be dead and need to be buried soonest.

Consult a reputable urinologist prefarably at knh doctor's plaza. If you're being treated by doctors who just finished school (especially at aga khan) sahau hiyo. I had the same problem and had to go back 3 times before they could even get a correct diagnosis

In Women...UTI(honeymoon cystitis) can be caused by having intercourse with a 'well endowed' partner (men with Plantains->=10inch as opposed to sweet bananas....)such that they tear the bladder thus straining the bladder muscles.....Sad Sad Sad

please see a doctor, it can cause kidney infections...

Olesopa,
1. Wipe from front to back, maybe you already know that
2. Wear white cotton underwear
3. The acid level in the vagina is very acidic. Bacteria do not like acidic environment so don't wash the inside of your airport (douching)
4. Google this - pyelonephritis

I hope these will help.

you seem to be suffering from a urinary tract infection caused by multiple micro
organisms.
You have been treated with antibiotics, from the quinolone group, and seem to
hae responded to one of the brands.
I am abit concerned that a urine specimen for culture and sensitivity has not
been taken, and a blood sample for full haemogram has not been done. The
urine test tells you if you are using the right drugs, and if you may require to use
more than one type of drugs. The blood sample tells the doctor if you have an
immunity problem (other than HIV).
Should you be an airport.........ooooops! Lady, a vaginal swab for culture and
sensitivity could be a helpfull diagnostic test.
both tests increase the treatement bill significantly and the doctor may be
attempted to treat you blindly..
An anti amoebic/protozoa/ anti anaerobic bacterial agent egTINIDAZOLEcan be
added to the treatement regime.
Vaginal pessaries also provide anti fungal treatement, a minor complication of
prolonged antibiotic use.
There is a lot of information you have not provided, hence a visit to a qualified
gynae will be of great benefit.
I am amused with some of the so called home remedies......should you use
them, I fear you minght find a place in the long queue outside the infertiliy clinic....
Hoping from one doctor to the other may result into loss of "medical inteligence".
The new doctor will simply repeat the same investigations, prescribe the same
drugs and probably get the same results. Atleast stick with one doctor for six
weeks. Above all, ensure that he/ she is a gynea....
Dr. Anzetse A swani, Walter Kudoi, are some of the honourable gynaes aroun
(no insertion of extra digits)
