It has always happened. Merali is the best example. Look at most of the boards & you'll always find a similarity & the same old names. A large number of the old of this lot were either former parastatal chiefs, PS's & or politicians. Mauritius is a haven for most, they mostly use GBL 2 companies.

I know this, got trapped in Uchumi when it went bust due to some 'directors'... It's such a shame that these goons are offered protection just like the sneaky brokers who sell their clients shares. But what is the difference with our cases to what happened in US & Europe with bogus subprime investments?
