@ Mwenza, Blazin and Maichblack....Arsenal fans have never celebrated a draw. If i remember correctly it was Man Utd fans who kept bragging how they are happy with draws as long as they keep their unbeaten run....ati "we haven't lost"

Here's one from a Man Utd fan last season, i also liked your reaction after you drew against A. Villa and West Brom

"Still a draw always feels better than a lose and makes the team go into the next match psychologically stronger"

Our performance last night was flat and it wouldn't have mattered even if we managed to get all three points. Vermaelen and Koscielny were solid at the back but our midfield lacked creativity. I can't wait for today's match and the comments that will follow...

You should be more concerned with L'fools who failed to impress despite bringing is so many "top" players...Its just the first game of the season but Seb Larson goal's is already a contender for goal of the season.

I will take the 3 points but we could have done better in the 2nd half. Very good first half - should have scored more goals. Second half - took the foot off the gas a bit.

De Gea, De Gea, De Gea!!! I'm patient with him but I guess it coz we have not lost any game as a result of his mistakes. The minute we start loosing due to his mistakes, I don't think I'll have very kind words. Let's assume the two games were the initiation. Blunders in a third game and action will be needed. We can't win the 20th EPL title conceding such soft goals! It must be very deflating to the out field players. You work extremely hard to score, only to concede a soft goal at the other end!
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

The thing I love about SAF is that he won't hesitate to put Lindergaard in if we start losing games because of De Gea's mistakes...clearly the guy needs to practice on how to get down quickly on low shots coz that is where he's struggling yet can make amazing saves throughout the game.I look forward to when he starts getting clean sheets because for now, any clever opponent can see our weak link - long range low drives!

That said, that was a good start to the away campaign - I hope we can grind out those away results and maintain last season's away form, sure recipe for No.20.

Rio & Vidic out for 6 and a couple of weeks respectively but boy oh boy have I never been happier to see Smalling, Jones and (still surprised am saying this) Johnny Evans stepping up...the only reason we lost the title by 1 point in 2009/2010 was because of the long absence of both of those players and that is why am happy to see our over reliance on them come to a halt! @Taz, that is why you need 2 defenders, depth in the form of an able replacement for each player. What happens if Woscie/Vermalen/Wilshere gets injured? Depth ni muhimu and we've got it...all we need is another playmaker to reduce over reliance on Rooney in making plays from the 2nd half of the pitch.

The talking point of Arsenals game should have been Gervinho's sending off, not the draw - even Reds and Chelsea drew. If I was Gervinho I would have punched Barton, not even slapped him, just to give him a proper reason for staying down.
BEER IS LIVING PROOF THAT GOD LOVES US AND WANTS US TO BE HAPPY!

@ Smano...I really don't know what Barton was thinking but what shocked me more is he only got away with a yellow card.

Wenger has no choice but to spend before the transfer window closes. Our midfield needs a playmaker, Wilshere is still out through injury while Gervinho is expected to miss the next three games. I never thought i'd say this but if Wenger doesn't bring in experienced players before end of this month then he has to go. We cannot afford to lose two of our best midfield players without bringing in replacements.

I felt equal pity for Man U.They signed a keeper(a clown)with a big weakness which will be exploited by many a player. While De Gea is okay in the air,he is poor in judgement (i.e doesn't know when to come off line),but his biggest weaknesses are ground balls and diving on the left....fodder for strikers.

Temporary problem my brother. Peter Schmeichel did not have the best first two games for Man Utd but we all know how it went after that!

Let's compare notes after three-four more games. As I said earlier, even my patience is not infinite.

I know we have so many problems at Arsenal but i couldn't help noticing De Gea's weakness. I don't think its a problem of being too nervous because he made several good saves in the same match. He's just not that good on ground balls, his timing is not right. I also have to agree with @ Njung'e, he doesn't know when to attack the ball especially in set plays. I would really like to see how he'll perform against Stoke. He better get his act together because next they face Spurs, Crouch must be licking his lips after what he saw yesterday. Vidic and Rio can protect the keeper but i'm not sure about Evans and Smalling. I don't blame the young Spaniard he is good but the EPL is quite different from La Liga.

@Mwenza,
True and that is not good either. It simply means then that the young keeper has stiff ribs and i have seen it.Tuck the ball very low close to either side and the keeper never get's it.Such individuals though have an ability to fly from one post to the other......VDS will be irreplaceable.

On other news,Cecs is doing a medical at Barca.I seriously can't understand why that AW idiot let it drag on for song long.

Lets face it, you can never win the EPL with a mediocre goalkeeper. Lets hope that what we have seen so far is not what the boy is made of, otherwise we are in for a very long season.

For me, a good keeper must be able to command the "D" area, otherwise even defenders will start getting shaky if they lose faith in their shot-stopper.

The spotlight is on the young man because this is United. He'll have to up his game asap, but at only 20, he'll improve. And the better for him if opponents target him, that can only improve his reactions and judgement. As long as United are winning, I'll be happy with his learning curve. If we are losing, boss, warm the bench!

@ Jus Blazin....De Gea's only 20 and can only improve but i don't think SAF and the UK media (who are very big critics of "foreign" players) will be that patient with him if he repeats such errors.

"Fear not, though, Manchester United fans, for Pepe Reina looked like a clown in his first few games for Liverpool and went on to be one of the world's best goalkeepers. Then again, Massimo Taibi looked like a clown in his first few games for Manchester United and was actually just a clown."

Emmanuel 'messi' Eboue has gone missing and nobody knows where he is. Arsenal have not announced anything with regard to his sale/transfer and no club out there has announced having signed him. Gervinho appeared in the Newcastle game wearing Eboue's number, making fans suspicious as to whether the man wearing the Gervinho jersey was actually a dread-locked Eboue. Arsenal fans are concerned that the Cesc/Nasri saga was a smokescreen to cover the secret sale of the real superstar at the club. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Emmanuel 'messi' Eboue should report to Arsenal Mania. The disappearance of Eboue has angered most fans as they have lost one of the best versatile player, dribbler, comedian and dancer.
