Vitu-why,because the CFO said so? Let me reiterate,the capital MSC spent on the co-generation has to be written down or off. Via the P&L.
But if you are a trader,Ksh4.80 offers some good upside.

@Mainat,

I almost fell off my chair.That CFO must be a very ignorant fellow.Why would you want to cool a steam plant with high quality water....???.or why cool it in the first place ??..That's besides the point anyway.The second half will disappoint and that is a fact since no much generation has been done since commissioning.I will still stick to my earlier thinking.Any tangible benefits from the cogen plant can only be realised in the first half of next financial year.For those who bought at shs 2.60 maybe it's time to take your money and wait it again at just about the same price...

Now trading at 4.90 bob and moving north. I am projecting 13 in march 2010. My average is 8 and will stick in there for now.

MainaT: I think the 2H will be better (there were a host of other factors that messed up 1H) but NOT by much...

**** Water production is a BY-PRODUCT of energy generation using steam turbines... steam is almost 100% gaseous water thus as it cools it becomes liquid water... Mumias will spend more distributing & packaging the water than the 'cost' of production...

FACT:

Mumias was trading at between 2 - 2.5 shilling about 1 year after it was floated at a price of 6.5 just before the end of the Moi era. Brokers tried to prop it up but it flagged. Just before 2002 election mumias posted a ten cents profit. Booker management was chased and kidero was apointed and mumias made us money like ... The mumias had a secong public offer and that is when the prices fell albeit after a bonus of 2-1.

@VVS,

'Water production is a BY-PRODUCT of energy generation using steam turbines... steam is almost 100% gaseous water thus as it cools it becomes liquid water'..........

hehehehehe......Anyone who has been near a thermal steam plant must be laughing himself/herself silly.Always say things you understand.......Here is your idea.Next time you come from a long trip,in order to save time and energy,would you syphon hot water from your car's radiator to make a cup of coffee or kuon??.........hehehe...Lemme enjoy my morning...-:)

Records show a recent LOW of KES 3.20. I'd despaired at 3.45.
