While it is true that the government was over-blamed and the media splashed us with images of Somali refugees, we cannot refute the fact that there is a famine in northern Kenya

So what Mr Bosh. No one is forcing you to contribute.

I read somewhere on face book that the KShs 500 million they are trying to raise is 3.13% of what GOK has set aside. Do the maths

Clearly it is not doing the work that is required.

d'oh! Shame on you

@bosh so what is wrong with corporates using CSR to benefit their bottom line the money was channeled to Kenya Redcross and remember its not OK for you to criticize companies who misinformed or not had seen the plight of kenyans dying of hunger.

What you are telling us is that we should just wait until the situation is critical for the corporates to act I think you are so sadistic have you even visited this areas just take a mat to kitui or masii and see on your way there how drought looks like.

For corporates, it is not a donation. Any contribution to a registered charity (which Kenyans4kenya is) is tax deductible, therefore strictly speaking, it is you the tax payer who is paying it.

I agree with you totally.

Corporates will always use such platforms to sell their agenda. The idea behind CSR is for corporates to give back to society part of the money the've made.
