You can only be paid through checks in Kenya.

You have the option of receiving the money in euros or dollars at $100 or 75 euros.

Note kenyan banks stay with the funds for 4 weeks and the check should get to you from google in 4 weeks. So give it 8 weeks to get your cash.

my advice, if you're still new and having difficulty getting to the 100 dollars, save the money in your account till december and enjoy a great new year!

Google can now pay you in Kenya for your Adsense account through Western Union.

My two cents: don't rely on Google Ads for revenue. They will not make you wealthy. The online gold mines right now are:
-'NGO Apps' e.g Ushahidi: make an app that seems to heal the world, get NGO funding for 'expansion' and pocket those dollars
-BPO from unskilled countries: target a country full of useless buggers like Malawi or Uganda, and outsource big digital projects from them.

I am not that way Elder. In fact, I am much against that tactic of pocketing NGO money. Proof of this is a very long argument I had with people at RCBowen over this very matter

Kenyanlyrics, I actually got what you meant in your post that I responded to. My response was not to say that you do stuff like that but was my pointing out to you that those whom you are talking about may not take kindly to that. And they are not few.

As alma and elder have said u can only be paid through checks & now western union.

With checks there are 2 types:

Check - Standard Delivery(sent by regular mail arrives 2-3 weeks of mailing date)

Check - Secured Express Delivery (sent via courier and should arrive within 1 week & you will be charged €17.00 Processing Fee)

You want it fast that is in 1 week u will have to buy back those xtra 2 weeks for €17.00.Laughing out loudly

With western union though haven't used it yet you get to pick up your money the next day after the payment date.

Just to clarify something you don't receive your money in Euros or dollars

Your earnings in the adsense account will be in either Euros or dollars but you will receive the money in Kenya shillings at the exchange rate of the day of payment.

This is not true at all i have been using adsense for 2 years now and whenever i bank the check i get the money within just a few days.

FYI: Google have an account at City Bank in Upper Hill Road, Nairobi. That's where you will exactly be paid from. So i don't understand the issue of banks staying with the funds for 4 weeks.Shame on you

The bank doesn't cut anything you get your full earnings plus the centssmile

Part of this statement is true but the fact is that the people having very poor earnings with adsense have either poor content targeting low paying keywords or have just one or two websites.

In short ALL KEYWORDS ARE NOT EQUAL If you really want to be successful in Adsense target high paying keywords with a lot of traffic.

Also don't expect to receive good earnings from just a one or two websites. The more the merrier. Simple maths if one site gets you €0.50
a day for example, what if you had 100 such sites? That's right u will be making €5.00 a daysmile

As you have seen it takes a lot of research and initial hard work to be really successful with Google Adsense.

Good Luck!

Let's just put it this way: Adsense does not appreciate the scale of the general market. For example in Kenya, if your site is doing 30, 000 unique visitors, then that is a HUGE site. But in the global scheme of things(which is what Adsense looks at) that is a nothing site, so you get nothing money.

@KenyanLyrics - the discussion on the RCBowen link you've provided is highly coloured with racial overtones and is despicable to say the least. Frankly, it is disheartening to know there are people out there who still have a stone age mentality. Insulting the dignity of Kenyans (or any other sovereign pple for that matter) on any forum is SHAMEFUL!! I'd like to think this group is a minority.....

@KenMan,

I really cannot remember how I got mine but I remember I usually received the Secured Express Delivery checks in either of the following ways if they will be sending it by dhl.

1. Request google to drop it at my employers address.
2. When I left employment, I instructed google to drop my parcel at dhl offices in International life house. Once the parcel is there, they would call me.

Hope this helps.

KenMan, I got mine early last year or late 2009 and it came to my post box. Have they changed the rules?

I have helped a friend setup an online business that produced notebook sleeves back when there were little competitors yet. The thing with an online business is penetrating the market. Good thing that there were not much available options that time, that's why he made good out of it.

But if you are going to start with something that is already out in the market, I would see this as a challenge. It is hard to sell especially if you do not have a fan base just ready to try your products out.
