On the same note,what can be the best way to reduce the exchange losses associated with the clearing of a foreign cheque which is in RWF? Does any bank in Kenya accept customers to open an account in RWF? Just thinking aloud! Anxious

You can cash the cheques in any KCB branch. Just take your original ID with you.

I tried the major banks(BBK) to deposit my cheque in my account but they allege that they do not deal with that currency (RWF).Maybe i will try KCB.Has anybody been paid locally?

1 KES is about 6.50 RWF but you have to put into consideration the commission.Has anybody been paid here in Kenya?If so where?

guys go KCB....i just deposited mine today...if it is under RWF 50,000 then they will encash it for you. If more then RWF 50,000 then you must have an a/c with them and deposit the cheque.

Pls assist I av a cheque from Bralirwa for less than 50K Rf, how much will KCB charge to encash?
I av an active account with KCB too,ll I still be charged for depositing it in my account?

there is no comission at KCB the cheque is encashed if value is below RWF 50k as has been said, the ruling exchange rate for the day rules
