This guy was amazing in K24 Wednesday on Capital Talk. He had a lot of advice to the MPigs and challenged them to go back to their constituents. It might be repeated on Sunday

I'd prefer that 30year old kutuny kid who respectfully sent kipruto arap kirwa home despite inexperience n just havin graduated in '06. Hon Kenneth has been in the parliament long enough to create networks connections n relations with those goons that he is bound to honour! The same reasons we vote for change n nothin actually changes. We need some guy from no where with no favors, honors or allegiance to existin demagogues! Obama style.

DISCLAIMER: This is the opinion of one Jammo,CFA,CPA,Opinionated and Loud, based in nairobi. Whilst care has been taken in compiling the data to be as most factual n logical,he doesn't accept any responsibility of accuracy or completeness of info contained herein..neither does he purport to be a genius!

Kutuny may be young but has he brought any new ideas? He may have unseated Kirwa but truth be told he was one of the best ministers of agriculture we've ever had so it was our loss. I also recall that during the 2007 campaigns Kutuny was among the goons supporting ethnic bashing and isolation

Found this interesting thread.

I think you should temper your comments with real facts and not innuendo.

What do you mean ' he started off as a low grade clerical official'? Are clerical positions now low grade? There are hundreds of thousands of Kenyans doing clerical jobs in all sorts of banks and there is nothing demeaning about it.

Peter Kenneth indeed worked at Prudential Building Society and worked his way up to a managerial position. He left Prudential long before it went down. It is unfair to infer that he was involved in its demise.

His record at KFF was impeccable if you would care to check. He left without controversy in 2000 when his term as Chairman came to an end. He did not seek to extend it and his handover included audited reports (a first in KFF).
He actually played for Re-Union Club and this is what got him into KFF (not being in Prudential).

His tenure at Kenya Re draws much admiration from the staff he worked with and government officials he dealt with. Again his record was impeccable and has not been called into question.

I will not comment on the Obama comparisons and Sally K (I cannot support that with facts and records).

However I will comment on your semi-illitrate comment - Peter Kenneth is a not a child of privilege,he grew up in Eastlands and used his brain and football skills to get into Starehe School. He is steeped in the traditions of that great institution and the values of the man they revered as the Director. He may very well be what we need as the change catalyst for this country.
I will also comment on 'ati Peter Kenneth'. Pray advise what is wrong with that name?

Peter Kenneth has actually improved the lives of people in his constituency. Good infrastructure has opened up the entire Gatanga for serious trade; Education standards have steadily risen since 2003 and Security is high - this is the place with the lowest Mungiki-related incidents in Central Kenya.

His tenure Kenya Re was considered a turnaround period and the changes he instituted then are still in place now.

His 4 year appointment as KFF chairman (1996 - 2000) witnessed the greatest change in that beleagured institution. He revived the youth football programme and convinced the private sector to get back into football sponsorship - EABL and BAT came in during his time. He handed over to the next chairman in 2000 and left a clean record and audited reports.

@Kenyans

If a man can run a shop efficiently, give him a supermarket to run. A constituency is like the shop and the country is like a supermarket.

If only majority of Kenyans could be rational this time round by voting in favour of PK and things would be as good as they can get.

I was in Narok and Mau Narok the other day. People in Mau Narok are still living in the town centre with their livestock since their houses were torched by Kalenjin raiders. Why they have never been resettled beats common logic. IDPs in their own town region.

Unless the government has no thinkers, why not get one IDP from Maela camp, go to the farm he/she came from, build a stone house for him and build a military camp on site. Then bring back or the other IDPs. Why buy land for them elsewhere while they original had land they bought. Ama the gover fears the Kalenjin raiders?

Those responsible must have failed in school.

@Obi - I was certain someone was trying to rig in a ghost President.

I am going with the list we have here...sure there are a couple of others...this one is PNU-heavy so some additional names from ODM side could provide a balance...but I'm too lazy to think on a Friday evening...so here is my Nyaga-Stockbrokers-type-analysis of the guys fronted so far:

Peter Kenneth - Seems to be doing something good in his backyard. Question is,whether he genuinely attempted to salvage or turnaround public institutions that he was responsible for in the Moi days. Often, bad times reveal a man...

Phillip Kaloki - I don't know much about this guy. No comment.

PLO Lumumba - I liked the guys work during the Bomas thing esp. the time he gave J.Sunkuli (Baba Dennis!) a dressdown on live TV for not reading the draft before their debate. He strives to excel in what he does. But I often find it difficult to see the resolve for decisive action beyond the impressive Martin-Luther-like/wannabe speeches.

Mungatana - The better/best of the worst..a mild opportunist in my opinion...but hey what is a politician if he cannot be opportunistic. Still suffers from the curse of youth...excess adrenalin. I fear he could implode if given too much power too quickly.

Tuju - Has good intent and work ethic but needs to work on his PR. When confronted directly, his responses sometimes seemed more emotional than rational.

Balala - When he works,I think he works. Mombasa guys seemed to like his vibe when he was Mayor(?). But can be prone to outbursts when under pressure. He also seems overly keen to identify with Muslims...nothing wrong with that...but I maintain that a Prezzo has to keep a certain distancee from religious issues...keep your faith but don't be in the news all the time with the Imam,NCCK head or the Cardinal advocating the rights of Muslims,NCCKeans (sic) or Catholics respectively. I would have mentioned atheists lakini sitaki kuchokoza nyuki..hehehe (another inside joke today).

Kituyi - I liked this guy...witty dude that seemed keen on placing Kenya on the world map...for all the right reasons. There were corruption/abuse of office allegations when he was minister that may need further investigation. Once I clear that doubt and he learns not to respond to everyone that insults him incl. Atwoli,I would consider this guy....so X!

Nyaga-Stock-Brokers Political Analysis Department - Buy this vibe at your own risk!

I am of the opinion a Peter Kenneth/Raphael Tuju or Raphael Tuju/Peter Kenneth 2012 ticket would be a good thing for Kenya. A break from the usual politicians/political families that have each other and wealth to protect. It would also be an important break away from the tribal and polarizing candidates/politics we are use to. A new Kenya.
