The G7 strategy has so far worked with Ruto and possibly Kalonzo consolidating their home support by hinting they were going for the top seat.
Eugene is the only one who is yet to get the full backing of his community though he has managed to get the Bukusu behind him. I can safely say Bungoma is leaning towards him.

Over 50 MPs allied to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance are expected to meet on Friday at the Cooperative College in Karen to decide the party on whose ticket they will run in the 2012 general election. Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi has sent all MPs from Central, Eastern and Nairobi who support Uhuru a phone text message inviting them to the Karen meeting. the text read as follows, "Mheshimiwa. this is to invite you to a critical meeting on Friday, 5th August beginning at 8:30 am at Cooperative College Karen. The agenda of the meeting is to discuss our political leadership and potential vehicle for 2012."

There is a rumor going around that Raila and Ngilu are done. With RV having walked out of ODM and ODM's wranglings with PNU now imploding on the ODM party there really is no other future for Kenya but a G7 future.

What G7 supporters are really looking forward to, is to know who G7's presidential nominee and running mate are going to be.
