I've parked the cash in CFC money market at 6.2% I hope you know when you dumped KK you paid 2.1% "tax" ,when you subcribed to CFC money market, you paid some "tax" and when you will buy back KK in future date you will still pay 2.1 % "tax" . Invarariably the tax you are avoiding you are still paying them. In addition it is cheaper to pay tax on interest (dividends) than on the capital. The wazua spirit as members is to educate and inform and learn from others within the limit of what we know in any chosen area irrespective of our differences in tribes, nationalities, etc. .

All this 'trading' makes brokers, CMA fat cats, banks rich. He likes dividends. At the end it is ALL about the dividends. No company can grow forever. Look at Microsoft. Warren Buffett does not pay dividends as long as he can grow the firm's profits (ROE) higher than average. He has said when he can't grow it, he will pay it out as dividends. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

If GG feels the stock price will fall significantly more than the 5% yield, he is entitled to sell. He might make his broker rich, but will make himself richer (if indeed his move does pan out) by getting more shares than he initially had. Fair enough GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

Good luck to him. My point is that I am not a trader coz I do not think I can make more money than my broker when I 'trade'. For an excellent look at trading see @stocksmaster who has sorta morphed from 'trading' to 'buy & hold' in 2011. P.S. @SM is a long-term sort of chap but had a great year trading in 2010. The experiment worked for 1 year. Now it seems he is 'holding' but I may be mistaken. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

Probably holding KK as there are NO better opportunities to buy if he sells. STILL BEATING THE MARKET THOUGH GOD BLESS YOUR LIFE

Fair enough I'm banking on a greater than 5% fall on account of ex div and the election uncertainty. @young, there is no entry or exit fee for CFC MM, its all factored in the net 6.2% interest, which is variable and indications are that it is rising. BTW, I also offloaded my KCB, I'm looking for a sub 22 rentry, which I suspect should be in two or three months. This was more of an emotional decision (bad) as I was quite disappointed by the H1 numbers.

Dear @GG our inputs are mere suggestions which may not be of much use to you but to others since you have already taken a decision I also believe the net 6.2% is per annum, that translates to 0.52% increase in your capital per month. In essence you can only realise the 6.2% increase in a years time, but if you exit before then to re-position in NSE ........... I believe in a years time KK will yield not less than 10% horizontal growth in the form of interest (dividend) and not less than 5% vertical growth in form of capital appreciation for those that bought it sub 11 bob. Combining the two growths, one should make at least 15% capital growth. This is irrespective of market ups and downs that is expected during this period in question.
