By beating the catalan giants 2-1 in the pre-season friendly match. At least now the old trafford goons have an excuse to utter whenever we remind them of the champions league final.

Fortunately Man U fans, unlike their aseno counterparts, know the difference between a friendly match and a cup final.

@ Mwenza...I look forward to the day you'll comment anything on the EPL without mentioning Arsenal. I loved the way Man U fans and players celebrated the win last night.

Tell him @mwenza. There is a good reason why this thread was not started by a Man U fan and yet we knew the results all along!

Of course we are happy with the 100% wins in pre-season friendlies but a friendly game can't even come close to a Champions League final! What every die hard Man U fan wants is to beat Barcelona in a CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL!!! Eliminating them in a quarter or semi final might also not be enough but will be a good start. I'm hoping for a Barca - Man U final in the coming season's CL final.

In other [obvious] news - Arsenal did what they do best. They surrendered a 2 - 0 lead to draw 2 - 2 with Borca Juniours. (I'm sorry for mentioning Arsenal in a thread discussing the two greatest football teams.)
Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

At least they are not the kind that says "Although we drew/lost, I was happy with our performance bla bla bla..."

@ Maichblack.....oooh that's convinient. I'm not quite sure i would want to see another Man Utd/Barca CL final because nothing has changed.

I believe Gervinho will be one the EPL stars in the coming season...this guy has everything we needed at the front. At the back its still the same old story, first half was good but after 6 subs at the break Djourou an Squillaci did what they do best.....i can't wait for the new Centre back, i hope we sign before start of the season.

Somehow its good we drew the match, maybe Wenger will be more determined to bring in new players now.

There he goes again, bla bla blarring. If you think Barca-ManU hasn't changed, come back when things are different at Gooners.

@ Jus Blazin, ooh i forgot Man Utd now has Ashley Young, De Gea and Phil Jones. I've watched two CL finals so far involving the two teams and i don't think i need to remind you what has changed. As long as your midfield has the likes of Carrick, Anderson and Fletcher, you'll always be "second" best.

@Taz, second best is better than a team you support that has been catapulted into oblivion, don't you think?

Ma fans...the league has not even started!

While I was happy we won, Barca still outplayed us the entire game without Puyol,Xavi,Messi and Alves. That, my dear Man Utd fans, is a stark and painful reminder of where we stand and should push Fergie into thinking again about the creative midfield position. We'd rather even buy Sneijder for all that money than pin our hopes on Anderson, Cleverly and the still suffering Fletcher...I won't even talk about Carrick.
