I doubt there will be a split but the talk about the bonus has been going on for the past 3 years. Let's see if they will declare the bonus this year.

The bonus issue was addressed by JIS during the H1 2011 presentation at the Investor Briefing. Here JIS was categorically clear that a bonus issuance would only arise in the event of a MAJOR financial arrangement for the purposes of a MAJOR acquistion...

Meanwhile u can go to their site & catch up on what went down during the IB.

But then, even if he were to give a bonus, I doubt he would categorically say it outright

Though we do know hat they have plans in Lubumbashi, Malawi, Namibia and Botswana...

@vvs. You are the guy who saw it from the start. Where do you see kk after dividend excitement dies down, after book closure.

1) I buy long-term so short term variations do not bother me. If KK was 'delisted' I would remain a shareholder coz IMHO it will be making an EPS of 3/- in FY 2013.

2) Will it drop after it is ex-div (Yes, by 50 cents) but I cannot predict short-term movements.

3) It is election time so prices may/will weaken as we get into 2012.

Bottomline: 12/- is cheap. 6x PER. P/B is almost 1:1 (include various properties not revalued). If you buy a great farm cheap today, do you worry about the daily 'price' or the profits it will generate?

VVS, Lai indicated that they will not be revaluing the properties. Do they ever plan on revaluing in the near future?

The only reason for a bonus is in lieu of a dividend [so the cash can be used to expand/acquire other businesses] & not for the sake of a bonus!

Yeah, it would seem odd to be dishing out FAT dividends then going for a bonus.

@ Young will like this: Kenolkobil Board has adopted a dividend policy of 40-45% dividend payment of Net Profits.

Happy hunting.

I doubt unless it is done for a sale. Of course, a redevelopment might require a revaluation but IFRS requires the lower of historic cost or current 'value'.
