If you look at the Map of Kenya, you will see that all major human settlements are along the Uganda Railway. Now with LAPSSET, there will be a better distribution of settlemets and these will come with greater economic activities and social interaction.
Once this Mzee passes on, I suggest we name LAPSSET in his honor... "The Great Kibaki Corridor", perhaps. The Mzee seems dead serious on his legacy; but all said, this guy is transforming Kenya and making people rich (including through property appreciation). Good day.

I would add to the list idle prisoners. The Construction work in this proposed Rail,Road and Port project will be highly manual labour intensive. @Freiks, Initially,the project was to be done by the Chinese but in order to attract funding,this has been opened up to investors from other regions. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Very good news indeed, for boosting security and escalating development in the Northern Eastern Counties et al. and the nation at large. @Mukiha, by Mzee passing on I hope you mean retiring from Job No.1 post and not the other one. He said this project is doable in our (I suppose he meant his) lifetime. With the chinese machines 'chewing' the rocks literally they they have done along Thika Rd, I do believe it is doable.

Hi guys, I love the JasonHill ideology taking care of the refugees is no mean task considering we have our own 4M + to take care of. God Bless Kenya's industrialization.

At this rate, kenya is going to be a grand highway as opposed to a country but offcourse in a good way.
We have the Eastern, Greater Eastern, Southern,Northern By passes, Northern Corridor, and I bumped the other day into an expert who told me he was involved designing a road from Kibwezi,Kitui Mwingi, Isiolo and finally to Ethiopia guess it will be called the the Great Grand Eastern By pass.
