on 25-07-2011 Equity Bank will release their half-year results from 7a.m. at Equity Centre in Nairobi.

Can they give an interim dividend like their little brother HFCK? Lets wait and see.

I'm expecting a significant reduction in growth from their Q1.

Interim dividend? Even if they decide to go that way (will be surprised if they do) it is unlikely to do anything for the share

Interim dividend possible becoz of Britak...why do you think 1H will be much slower than 1Q 2011?

I wouldn't be too conservative coz if HF with fewer side hustles at its disposal e.g forex, commisions, treasuries, could make such improvement, then the big cap banks should put up a good show too. Though an interim from EBL will indeed be a surprise but bad PR for Britak.

FUNKY, of course I don't mean lower earnings compared to H1 2010. I'm comparing Q1 and Q2 2011

As a matter of procedure, the Beberus are blacklisted: BBK & SCBK

To be rated @ the bottom of the barrel in terms of percentage growth (not money sums).
