Brimin Kipruto steeplechase world record

The guy missed the steeplechase world record by one hundredth of a second last nite at the monaco diamond league, running 7.53.64 against stephen cheronos world record of 7.53.63. The guy will have himself to blame for slowing down in the last 50 metres after realising kipsiele and kemboi were well beaten. He could have slashed the record at least by a second had he not lost focus on who his real competitor was. Next time he should keep tabs of the clock like rudisha and not keep glancing oback to find how far kemboi is.

i was on my feet when at the bell i looked at the time and calculated the record was coming home only for Kipruto to self destruct!.But he now knows he can get it and will plot for the same.

I blame the crowd. It should have been experienced enough to know that after the bell it was possible. The MC for the event should also have read the situation and driven the crowd. All things considered it is just a matter of time for him.
