Latest Synovate poll: Odinga 32%, Uhuru 21%, Kalonzo, Ruto tie at 11%. ODM popularity has also dwindled. Its ratings is at 33%, PNU 23% and 23% dont care about parties.

21% (Uhuru) + 11% (Kalonzo) + 11% (Ruto) = 43% (G7)

ODM is clearly losing in 2012.

wrong assumption! how did you arrive at your conclusion that whoever votes for Uhuru can also vote for Kalonzo or Ruto?

A former chairman of the Luo Council of Elders on Monday said it was time the community allowed multiparty politics to thrive in Nyanza.

Mr Riaga Ogalo said that the province should start embracing competitive politics that is taking root across the country, adding that one-party dominance had undermined development in the region for decades.

We can’t remain in political bondage yet other regions have shown that it is feasible for more than one political party to compete,” he said.

He was speaking in East Kamagak location, Rachuonyo South District, during a burial ceremony.

Mr Ogalo, who denied having links with Eldoret North MP William Ruto and his United Democratic Movement (UDM) party, insisted that his support for ODM leader Raila Odinga is unwavering.

In a swift rejoinder, Kasipul Kabondo MP Oyugi Magwanga accused Mr Ogalo for engaging in negative politics for selfish gain.

Finally, our brothers from the lake side are waking up to civilization. If only the Luo gave us a more credible leader or presidential material individuals, I would not hesitate to vote for him.

Am curious where niclause got his data from. Why is is not in the Nation or something like that?

Comments from readers of Nation on the same story.

Luo politics are like a man who needs a triple heart bypass - out of four vessels, three are damaged, and only one is supporting life. Is this damage ON PURPOSE??? Who is damaging these other vital vessels and Why??? Mr Riaga Ogalo has diagnosed this problem and he might as well SAVE the politics within the Luo community. Mr Ogalo should just save the community by telling us who is responsible. nyashinyangwiviGmail

The Luo Council of Elders is an outdated outfit. (even when you are being asked to see the light, you close your eyes harder) I wonder how being in such or such a party will bring progress to the people. People are free to join the parties they wish and this has not changed since the multi-party system was established in Kenya. Let no politician cheat Kenyans, they will not put ugali on their tables. The majority of politicians are parasites of the society who have cultivated ruses using sweat talks to ride on wananchi's backs.

What our brothers from the lake side are avoiding to say is that the region has been forced to support one individual from the region without being given a second option. Not being in ODM is seen as a betrayal to the community. If you don't toe the Raila line, you are kicked out. That is being retrogressive as it does not allow for competitive politics. Its like Luos are still stuck in old KANU single party system where any divergent opinion is silenced by all means necessary. So, instead of dismissing Nicolause here, put in constructive criticism. NST, MC, and others from the lake side should give others a chance to express themselves even if they sound strange.

Here's another link: http://www.nation.co.ke/.../-/338akez/-/index.html

I can't help it if I'm faster than media houses with news. They published their stories 2-3 hours after I posted the story on Wazua.

Instead of complaining a simple thank you would do for giving you breaking news hours before media houses break it.

Here's more: Balala just said Ivory being burnt costs Sh. 1.5 billion.

Look for it in the media. You won't find it. You might see it in 4 o'clock news or even at 7.

I'm faster than the media houses. Wait for my link when they decide to publish the story or accept a facebook or twitter link. Your choice.

Kibaki became president on a promise that things will change, but look at the power men (link below)...It the Railaphobias were to see RAO do this, they will hit the political thread with all manner of lame excuses...though regardless of who is president, this is wrong!!!

Also, if I were UK and Ruto, I would be concentrating on how to avoid being a cellmate with Charles Taylor

I have not seen my candidate either...
But they are out to shape opinion and indeed they are shaping it,just wait for next months's poll and as sure as we will have another power blackout Raila's will decline while the rest will be rising in popularity.

Why do women shy away from political debate,am i the only one here?

Whether is RAO, UK or Ruto the fact remains that come 2012 we will definitely have an election Run off. I don't think anyone will come close to the 50% target.
