I have been offered this plot in Kitengela, a place called behind prisons.

Guys, is it a deal or no deal?

Please let me know your take on this.

Good Deal.

Behind Prison is Ok.

I sold one there three years ago at 325k; they must now be around 500k.

The best.

@ Radio, your sms search wont work for Kitengela. You have to do a physical search.

Thanks Barry.

I tried this SMS thing for a plot in Syokimau and it didn't work. I did a physical search at Ministry of lands and the title came out clean. Could be some plots have not been put in the SMS database.

@Aces, now that is scaring. However, if I do a search and the result are as per the copy of the title (I have), what else does one do to verify? Sorry I am new in Kite.

Hello boss; there are too many prison breaks happening lately; and l have had an experience residing next to a prison, believe you me as the breakaway prisoners are hunted down by warders, your privacy is seriously violated and thrown out the window. If l were you, l would re-think staying next to a prison. Just suggesting

Thanks guys...

@aces, am really careful! Having lost heavily in Ruai in my younger years, I am in no rush!

@Barrywhite, Laughing out loudly Laughing out loudly , I had not thought about that! But anyway, I'm just speculating and not planning in settling there!

Last weekend, I went on a county tour and am seriously thinking of speculating on those upcountry towns earmarked as county HQs... Is this the new money maker for land speculators?

@radio l think so.

Just figure this out. The government will need to deploy, going by very conservative figures at least 100,000 staff to the counties. With 47 counties, this is over 2000 staff descending to some rural town with no decent accommodation in terms of hotels or even residential buildings. Like in my county headquarters in particular, if you host a fund raising and invite 50 guests; you will have to seek accommodation for them to the provincial headquarters, 80kms away. Now imagine roughly 2000 civil servants looking for permanent accommodation? Its a crisis of monumental proportions and an opportunity for real estate investors to build some cheap houses to accommodate these civil servants especially because many wont be moving with their families. So l agree with you, there is opportunity to speculate and make it big; or invest all together and reap loooooong term.
