Just an observation, many old registered stocks-only wazuarians (Pre 2009) have since diversified into real estate. I do not want to mention names but I am one of them.

That means they are seing something the newer ones are yet to see.

It means that in 2013 there will be more real estate converts after the newer ones hands might have been burnt by solo stocks investment.

Young you are very right. I liquidated 80% of my stocks between March 2010 and March 2011 and put the proceeds in real estate.

Remember sisinisisinini? That was me then. I started out as a value investor in 2004. However, it was only in late 2009 that I discovered that my talent was really in trading. I thus transferred my long term fund to real estate.

It's tangible, it's solid, it's beautiful. It's artistic, from my standpoint, and I just love real estate. smile

I moved away after losing out in NSE after the 2008 dip.
Most of it is as part of a small group of like minded individuals and some on my own.

My philosophy, if u have a good piece of land DONT SELL IT. Develop it or parter with others to develop it.

@Pabio,

God bless you , I have learnt a lot from your contributions in real estate especially questions for the architect thread.

It is really a pleasant suprise that you are not a real estate professional.

I still remember in 2008 we were together with full blown Equity shares. you might forget.
I am just starting to conclude plots acquisition phase , the next phase which is building proper , I will tap a lot into your wisdom and also the books I have read.

In sub saharan Africa we can only manufacture two things from raw materials :-
(a) House
(b) Food.

Regards

Pab, if they dont sell how do you get to buy? ... Realty is the King anytime, anywhere. Just wait for November and check out the overflowing tears emerging from NSE... The smell of black cotton is much sweeter....
