'Kenya is a man eat man society.' even after 50 yrs Nyerere's phrase still lingers in their minds on the basis of their actions.

"Tanzania is a man eat nothing society". That was Kenyatta's reply.
Wisdom to detect when share prices hit rock bottom.
When interest on bonds keep going up, you know the bear run is on high street. When interest on bonds start leveling, the bear has met the bull and they have hit rock bottom. When the interest rates on bonds start coming down, the bull has overpowered the bear and you better be riding the bull.

Of course, Tanzanians welcome South Africans & Chinese with more than open arms but Kenyans get the short end of the stick.

When KQ wanted to buy into Air Tanzania, there was resistance & SAA won. Lucky for KQ, the 'private' Tanzanian businesses are not so stupid & Michael Shirima sold 49% of Precision Air to KQ.

Today: Precision Air is the #1 airline but not considered a 'national' airline while Air Tanzania is dead but still designated as the National Airline.

TBL shares up for grabs next week

IPO dates: October 24 to November 11

Amount: Tzs 100b, the 20% held by EABL

Price @15% premium

This public issue is essentially for local investors in as a top priority while the second consideration would be for the East Africans and then the rest of the world.

This mini IPO is said to have started on a high note. But a look at the prices

TBL price at DSE - TZS 2020
EABL selling it at TZS 2060

Why buy it from EABL while one can get it from the stock market at a cheaper price????????????????

Maybe because the DSE hardly trades at all and when it does the volumes are thin...
