The now Jersey Island-bound Mr Chris Okemo, the Nambale MP and chairman of Parliament’s Finance, Trade and Planning Committee, had in Dec 2010 cleared the troubled Charterhouse Bank over allegations of money laundering and tax evasion among a string of improprieties.
A few months later in 2011, Mr Okemo now faces accusations of money laundering and corruption in Britain’s Jersey Island alongside former Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) managing director Samuel Gichuru!
'Mr Okemo is still the chair of the Finance committee. Well, this may sound like a judge delivering a verdict and, in a movie-like twist of fate, being shepherded to the dock to answer to similar charges.'
