@ Maichblack....It was reported that Samir Nasi would demand a wage of 110k per week to be at parity with Cesc who's epected to leave. He'll most probably get the deal especially after Stan kronke instructed the club to meet the player's demands but i believe Nasri is playing a very dangerous game with the fans (read Adebayor) if he fails to perform consistently. Btw don't expect him to sign for Man Utd anytime soon, Wenger would rather sell him for 10m to Barca, Inter or Real.

Man-U are definitely ahead of most other teams in terms of getting their signings out of the way. All the same, the widely held view, it is in the midfield that the devils needed most strengthening (perhaps with the exception of the goalkeeper). I can't wait to see who they will land in central midfield, and they have already spent an estimated £50 million.

I know I shouldn't be too worried by his age but the fact of the matter is I am! I hope I am wrong on this. Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

I think its actually the other way round. Nasri is more likely to stay if Fibreglass joins Barca. If he is to be believed, he wants to win titles. You don't win titles by staying in a selling club. There have to pay him enough to forgo trophies. But Wenger will not want to open that door. Many more will demand higher salaries as time goes by. This is a dicey one for Wenger!!! If SAF can pull a fast one on then Modric issue then we can get off the transfer market. I'm not so excited about Nasri. I will always see him as an Arsenal player even if he moves. I always see Owen as a Liverpool player even though he joined another two teams before coming to Man U. Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

And the madness that is the transfer window continues... Thiago Alcantara speculation has signed a two-year contract extension at Barcelona (to 2015) that sees his buy-out clause sky-rocket to £81m. Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

@ Maichblack....What you should be worried about (on De Gea) as with any other Spanish player in the EPL is when will he go back to Spain. At his age i doubt Man Utd we'll be able to keep him out of Real & Barca's reach for long especially due to the fact he'll be 25 by the time his contract comes up for renewal....spanish players always have an ambition of playing for either of the two teams at some point in the careers.
I expect the transfer window to hit top gear from next week, Man Utd have already secured three fairly "easy" signings....i expect Arsenal to wrap up Gary Cahil and Gervinho's deals very soon with Samba, Parker (hopefully), Ricky Alvarez and Mata/Hazard to follow if Fabregas leaves.

You are correct @TAZ. Spanish players can't resist playing for Real or Barca if they come calling. So yeah, the risk is there - but luckily it is not immediate and if it ever happens then Man U will make serious money on the sale. It will also depend on how Man U, Real and Barca will be performing in Europe in 5 years. And he has a long career ahead of him. He can move when he is 30 - which is a whole 10 years from now! On the signings, I will rest easy when I see one or two big signings in central midfield. Barca are busy tuning up their squad. We don't want to end up runners up again in the CL next year!!! Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

I've been following the transfer rumours for a while now and i can't help but wonder where the british press got the impression that Wenger would allow Nasri to join Man Utd...the guy even came out to declare that that will not happen. There's talk of players exodus at Arsenal yet they are the same pundits who last season dismissed most of our players as inexperienced and weak.
There was talk of Rooney leaving Man Utd for Man City at some point last season but as it turned out the player was just after money. Nasri's story is not any different only that he's on the last year of his contract but still that doesn't mean Wenger has to sell him this summer incase he doesn't sign a new contract...kuna January window pia even though his price would have gone down. He'll probably get a new deal once Cesc leaves. Flamini was not a consistent player at Arsenal and i'm sure Wenger refused to meet his demands intentionally.

Apparently Dr. SAF wants to offer Wenger £20m, Wenger thinks Nasri is worth £40m, commonsense tells you, given that he has only one year left in his contract, he is definitely worth less than £10m and the final fact is that he might just leave the club for £0 next summer. Habari ndiyo hiyo. Not good for Wenger!!! He might be forced to sell Nasri at a throw away price or lose him for free. Nightmare scenario: Assuming Nasri has his mind set on joining Man Utd, he refuses to sign a new contract and refuses to be sold to any other team. He leaves at the end of next season for free and joins... Man U!!! I'm sure Wenger must have had such a nightmare at least thrice in the last few weeks. @TAZ - I agree with you. Nasri wants more money, and he will get it! Maybe even more than he deserves. The only question remaining is who will be paying. One more question, who let's an underpaid, talented player run his contract to the final year? Wenger did a very stupid thing here. And some people still believe he is a genius. Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Two weeks ago Stan Kroenke gave the club's hierarchy permission to increase our offer to Nasri...i think Cesc departure to Barca is the holding factor to Nasri's new deal. Unlike our captain, the Frenchman desire is to play for Arsenal but his agent of course is after the money.
On why Wenger let Nasri's contract run to the final year, i think since he joined Arsenal last season was probably his best. Since he joined the club in 2008, he's scored 27 goals with 15 of those in last season. In comparison Arshavin signed for Arsenal in Jan 2009 and has scored 28 goals in total, having more assits than Nasri in the same period. Clearly before his heroics last season, he wasn't really a top priority at the club. I still believe Wenger would let him leave at the end of next season (whether he signs or not) at a reasonable price if he gets a good replacement for cesc.

@taz this is very surprising from a gooner like you. At the end of next season Nasri will go for 0$ 0Ksh, 0 euros and 0 pounds(for free) on a Bosman free transfer. That is why his case is a crisis. Tell him @bkismat. I was very suprised to read that statement from @TAZ. Reasonable price? End of next season he leaves for FREE. That is Kshs. 0/= but I.m sure if they try hard enough, they can get some one to double that! On a brighter note, even Gor will be in a position to afford him. Never count on making a good sale. @Bkismat....I said Wenger might still let Nasri leave end of next season WHETHER HE SIGNS A NEW CONTRACT OR NOT. What you don't seem to realise is that Nasri can still decide to stay at Arsenal if he gets a good deal at the end of next season. He'll only be a free agent which means he can negotiate with anyone. The Bosman free transfer will come into effect if the player decides to sign for another club. In 2007 Owen Hagreaves signed for Man Utd in a deal worth 17m pounds, just recently SAF announced that the club will not offer him a new contract. Arsenal did the same thing to William Gallas before he joined Spurs so i really doubt Wenger will be worried about what happens next year July.
Anyway i'm sure it will not get into that because we still have two months to go to the end of the transfer window and the player's wage demands are not that high 110,000k (what Cesc currently earns).
