Hi Guys,

A friend of mine has been struggling with the eczema condition for a very long time. Could someone pls let me know if they've tried a cream or oil that has permanently taken the condition away?

The eczema is triggered by something he/she eats. If she can identify that, she/he will be sorted. There is a cream and lotion called elocom that works perfectly for kids but it has to be applied very mildly coz it thins the skin. I don't know if the same works for adults.

Let her know the permanent solution is to find out what triggers it and avoiding it. Proteins are notorious, cocoa products (milo, drinking chocolate, bars of chocolate etc... and deep fried stuff like chips)
Lord, thank you!

As euge has said. Find ou about the triggers and avoid thhem like plague. It can reduce with age if triggers are avoided but am not sure if it can permanently go. If you are not sure about what allergens cause it, you can see a doctor bowry at upperhill medical center and she can do allergen tests to determine the triggers that cause the eczema. Many people have different allergens but the main culprits are proteins from meat and dairy products, eggs, plant proteins in soya products as well as different types of beans, and gluten full products.
Another cause that many people ignore is the enviroment we live in. If its a highly congested and dusty area there can be airborne allergens that cause the eczema.
I got to learn all this while taking my child who is eczema prone to dr.bowry

Please read the below info that I have copy pasted from Dr.Bhupinder's work and to which I agree with.

Hello,
Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. Doing so tends to increase effectiveness and reduce side effects from medications.

For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist. Symptoms can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

@Dash, thanks. I'll let her know. @Burning Spear - this helps a lot. Asante. Once we help her figure out the root cause then that will be some progress made.
