She is consistent. Sound basis for political and economic reform agendas.
She has demonstrated the ability to make hard choices. Destruction of non-renewable natural resource as is the case in Mau Forest seems highly unlikely under her watch.
She is not tainted nor implicated in any corruption scandals. She not only will have the will to fight this very expensive vice but the means to see it through.
None tribal bastion. Her support cuts across ethnic divides whilst as a leader she has shown no will to rely on tribal bases to drive the much needed reforms in this great nation.
Vision - Unlike our short0-sighted politicians bent on scoring political points, her unique approach of judging her candidacy by her work,a full 5 years ahead of the election,is fresh. It betrays a go-getting politician based on service delivery for all Kenyans.

I think Kenya requires a straight talking no nonsense approach to moving it to the next level of development, the kind President Kagame betrays. Hon Martha Karua looks up for this job. Let all like-minded people support her. This could be a turning point in Kenyan politics.

Wangari Mathaai was punished by GEMA for supporting Orange instead of Banana. Will karua suffer the same fate?

kambas - as we have seen - will always support a kamba politicians. Even as slimy as ka-loser.

I'm an ODM damu guy but surely this is the right person for this country. I've had no second thought for a nother Kikuyu presidency but Karua make ones think twice. I tend to see the original KANU comming together while the former reformists also joining hands. KANU operatives messed up the reformists but looks they may seek out each other to complete the reform journey after realising it was hijacked and systematically reversed from 2002 to date.

The new reformists line up after cosntitution amendments

1. President(with less powers) : Martha Karua

2. Executive Prime Minister: RAO

3. Deputy Prime Minister: Mudavadi

4. Vice President: Sally Koskei

The other Team(The Original KANU)

1. President: Kalonzo Musioka

2. Prime Minister: Uhuru Kenyatta

3. Deputy Prime Minister: Ruto

4. Vice President: Saitoti

What are you going to do about it??
Can you support her with time or cash when she runs. Those are the things that count.
If she through her party can start grass root campaigns. Not these silly baraza they have but going constituency by constituency in small towns and villages telling people how she can change their lives. With actual plans listen to the people and try by all means possible to win peoples hearts and more importantly there minds.
Sadly she might not be able to convince the upper class (status quo has to be maintained) and pseudo- educated middle class yuppies (there mis-education sadly gets in the way of open minded-ness) who spew the vilest tribal sentiments.
She should now start grass roots campaign she now has time!

Good point. Assuming we have or will understand her campaign pplatform..here at SK,we could..

Contribute to her campaign kitty,no matter how little. A not so wealthy Barack Obama raised a lot of funds from the general public.
We can do peer campaigns. Engage others as to why you would vote for her.
Contribute our varied skill set to her campaign.

more?.....

@ ecstacy,
As much as i am impressed by her decision. I still dont trust her or any other MP for that matter. She might be a good MP to her constituents but i doubt i will vote for her in the next election im still in doubt if i will even vote.
My advice was to anyone who actually believes in the person they hope to be the next president.
Do you believe she will bring any change.
My suggestions to her if implemented then i can start to believe. Until then just watching from the sideline as our country rots to death.

Martha's pre narc history was certainly radical reform-minded. but after kibz came to power, there wasnt anything to show at least publicly, that is until this resignation. But we await the specifics of her reform agenda,so far even within the her judiciary portfolio, she didnt bring it out.

she will have to take an Obama strategy to get anywhere since she lacks the critical traditional power footings - family background and wealth.

i am also a very skeptical person and I feel that she has the potential of what it takes to run the country, but she simply has to show me more and perhaps target 2017 and use Gichugu as her test run
