How much would it cost me to hire a conveyancing lawyer( i guess that's the lawyer that deals with land transactions)if i was buying land?

Strictly speaking, lawyers charge a percentage of the value of subject matter. For transfer of land valued between 0 and 5m the legal fee should be 1.5% but not less than 25k. But off course there those who charge arbitrary (githukio) depending on the relationship you have with him

Forget what the lawyers remuneration schedule says.
Negotiate to what you are comfortable with, while taking into account of what is reasonable for both parties.

@GGK does it mean that the minumum you can pay to a lawyer for land transfer is 25k?
