Having established this I propose that in my view Uhuru Kenyatta is the person to beat come 2012 elections.
Reasons:
1) The Kikuyu Vote - The Census showed us that Kibaki actually had the 5 million votes he used to gain the presidency. It is simply a matter of numbers. 60% in central is far greater than 80% in Coast. If you don't like it sue those who made the census report. 2) The Ruto Union - In a personal quest to ensure Uhuru ended up at the Hague, Raila sacrificed Ruto as one sacrifices a Pawn in a game of Chess with a view of Check-mating a King. The repercussions are so great that only a simple explanation will be able to explain this career breaking move: Raila - Ruto = 5 million votes (Kibaki votes) - 2 million (Rift-Valley) votes = 3 million votes (A worthy amount of votes; but not enough) Uhuru + Ruto = 5 million votes (Kibaki votes) + 2 million (Rift Valley votes) = 7 million votes (Keyword: Landslide) 3) Past Performance: It is a fact that Uhuru Kenyatta has stood out as Economic Mastermind directing and pioneering some of the most economically sound policies that Kenya has seen since independence (The man has no need for the meager Tax money that Kenyans submit to the government since he is an economic powerhouse in himself). The policies include among others: ESP - Economic Stimulus Program (for those who are in the dark), IFMIS Re-engineered (will cut of the head of the dragon called corruption for once and for all) and unlike his predecessors his Budgets are not Knee-jerk reactions but sound economic documents whose focus is on credible economic reform. These are the types of Budgets that go into the history books as the point where the Kenyan economy turned around and headed to economic bliss. In contrast to this, his rivals have nothing credible to show when it comes to reforms, the economic agenda and outright charisma.
Conclusion: Uhuru Kenyatta will become President of the Republic of Kenya in 2012 and his rivals will be relegated to the opposition back benches in parliament from where they can pursue their parties interests.
All freedoms of expressions have been adhered to and none of others have been breached. No animals were harmed in the production of this post and all paper used is recyclable."
Quoted from elsewhere - what are your views? The maths contains a lot conjure, IFs, buts and dreams i.e. it’s not FACTUAL so let’s leave it alone. Uhuru as an economist. Economic stimulus programme-brainchild of one Mwai Kibaki and is infact part of the DP/NARC project that he, Anyang Nyong’o; Kinyua and principally Daudi Mwiraria put together pre-2002 election campaign. Ask me and I’ll tell you chapter and verse of Kibaki’s 10yr economic plan which was pegged on getting a functioning KRA in his first terms so as to reduce aid-dependency going onto infrastructure spend; and then a lot of things contained in Vision2030. Under Uhuru, we now enjoy the highest budget deficit since 2000; weakest Ksh since 2002; highest inflation (pre-last yr’s “funny maths” adjustment). Let’s not even open the corruption page.On a good day, I’d say he the worst of the 3 finance ministers we’ve under Kibaki; on a bad day... Sehemu ndio nyumba

Am of the opinion that the government is us, not the people who we are electing to "represent us" wherever they are respresenting us at.
Democracy is when the government that I or we have elected comes to ask me or us for our opinion just about everything, not passing laws that either dehumanize us or work against the mwanainchi.
When the people who I elected to act as "the government" come to me and ask me what are my opinions about stuff that directly affects me or in other words, collects views from each and everyone before enacting a nefarious legistlation, thats when am gonna say that there is democracy.
Otherwise, the democracy that we are talking about is sheer non-sence. One has to realize that all this democracy talk has been taught to us by the westerners not knowing that whether we take part in it by lets say voting for Kibaki, Raila or Uhuru when they vie using different political machines, the results after the elections will always be the same. In other words, whatever they are doing after they are elected is the will of their controllers, not them and not certainly the people.
In the case of Ocampo, dont you guys think that we Kenyan's are better placed to handle it than the foreigners?? Am pretty sure we've got the brains to do all that. If those foreigners had completely wiped out all the vices in their countries, then things would be different but hmmmmmm, thats not the case and what do Kenyan's say?? You just lost your soverignity, again.
I've seen so many people talking about the polls on this post and it just makes me wonder out aloud whether people dont know that polls can be manipulated to give one an edge over the other. Am pretty sure that people know which media houses in Kenya are affiliated to who but do they use brains when coming to a conclusion. Dont let the media make conclusions for you at the end of each and every newscast.
Just the other day, Kenyan's were bamboozled into registring their cell phones with I dont know who because of "criminals" conning threating them while is South Africa, they are trying to implement the same stuff by rewarding those who register their phones.
Now, its Harun Mwau being targeted by the Americans (you know who) but people dont realize that its because of his stake in Nakumatt and also the fact that America wants to put in place Walmart in Kenya. But instead of defending him, people are like "Oh, how come he made billions and I didn't." The day that Walmart comes to Kenya, that will be the day when employers become employees and GMO's circulate everywhere giving people diseases that they've never heard of.
Some time back, Proff Anyang Nyong came to New York and was telling Kenyans not to return home, that its better to just stay in America and my conclusion was that these "political figures" probably feel threatened or are afraid of losing something. You ask yourself what it is they are afraid of losing. I hear you and feel you. The first thing I will ask you is whether you would find it a worthy cause to fly to Kenya and vote. Would you feel it's a waste of money or would it make a difference? If you were ever forced to vote who would you vote for and why? You have said we are the government. Which of our politicians do you think comes closest to your definition of a good governor.

I am not convinced that he has done enough or whatever he has done has impacted much in the country to warrant my vote given that he was in a position of power enough to influence things 3. I find him disrespectful to other people as a person 4. At first, he was not pro-new katiba... he only joined the bandwagon after he saw where the vote was swaying (in my opinion) so i don't think i would be confident enough to give him a position that requires someone who truly believes in the change we sort while passing the new constitution and expect him to implement it wholeheartedly and without favor 5. His alliance with WR who has a million cases to answer in court over corruption makes me second-guess his commitment to fighting corruption when he gets to power and after he has had support from the WR's following.... he'd be compromised to maintain the status quo in order to "kurudisha mkono". 6. among others

You ask yourself what it is they are afraid of losing. Please allow me to engage with you. The debate has never been about brains, or the lack of brains. Look at the man proposed to be DPP. He scored impressive marks in school. It has always been about the desire and will to get the high and mighty. That is what currently lacks, hence suitability of other options. And now that I do almost all my shopping at Naivas and the remainder at Ukwala, should I be worried about Nakumatt? And other marts? I never saw the part about Uhuru and his 2012 chances. Where is it? If you forgot that part just add it and re-post.
