Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked.

Cover up your brother's nakedness.

Often I fall into the trap of laughing at or ridiculing those in the army of Christ who have fallen by the wayside or who have succumbed to temptation.

In this case, Noah had failed, he was drunk and was misbehaving. His son Ham came by only to laugh at him and try magnify the shame that Noah was already in.

Same as what am oft quick to do. I hear someone messed up, I laugh and rush to gossip with friends about him/her.

How I pray that God could help me be like Shem and Japheth. I wont laugh. I will first cover my brother's shame before taking any further actionPray Pray

But kenyans (i.e not Jews) would rather tithe 10% of their income to pastors (who are not levites) and 'ministries' all the while believing they are serving God.

What a tragedy.

Yes, true but very sadSad

We have those who will give cash evn buy the pastor a car while they can't lend to their brothers!

Then there are those who have no time for their families: this week ni seminar, then youth day, mothers union week...so busy that they can't even call their mothers to ask them how they're doing!

why do some people complain when others give ...I do not understand.so you want all the pastors to be walking with tattered clothes,living in caves/slums or the Churches to built falling ??anyway those who give to their Churches or give to their pastor do it willingly.

Ex. 25:2 God said, “Speak to the children of Israel,that they bring Me an offering. From everyone who gives it willingly with his heart you shall take My offering.” Notice that the main stipulation was that it was to be a free-will offering. The Lord had already given the 10 commandments and many other laws, but now He does not lay down a law regarding giving, but asks for free-will offerings.
In Ex. 35:21-22, “Then everyone came whose heart was stirred, and everyone whose spirit was willing,and they brought the LORD’S offering for the work of the tabernacle of meeting, for all its service,and for the holy garments. They came, both men and women, as many as had a willing heart, and brought earrings and nose rings, rings and necklaces, all jewelry of gold, that is, every man whomade an offering of gold to the LORD.” V.29 says, (read). @pastor, sijasema its wrong to give. I do tithe and give offering! But we have so many Christians who become so spiritual that they relegate their families to stranger level.

Too many times we concentrate only on those parts of the bible that make us feel good as if God owes us happiness and we look forward to getting them.

We concentrate on the good promises God gives us but we ignore the responsibility he puts to us and his warnings.

Sample this:


Rev chapter 1:3 A promise

Quote:
Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein : for the time is at hand.


and later on a caution:

Rev chapter 13:3

Quote:
......and all the world wondered after the beast.



But we dont want to hear that and end up fulfilling that prophecy by being part of the all.

Giving and tithing are two different animals.

People (christians) should not be manipulated into believing that they MUST give 10 % of their income or they are robbing God... that is the most out of context interpretation on scripture.
