I agree! I don't even think there's any comparison to be made there.

BBI will solve it

On the 11th of January 2010 Co-op Bank was trading at an average price of 9.15 Ksh with a total of 1,271,900 shares transacted on this day.

On the same day, Mumias Sugar Co. was trading at an average price of 7.55 Ksh with a total of 1,121,000 shares transacted on this day.

Around that time on Wazua there was a comparison of both companies with people giving varying views on the future prices of both companies. This was backed by a mix of facts, emotions and personal preference.

Today we have the priviledge of hindsight when looking at both companies over the last 18 months. As at 8th June 2011 Co-op Bank was trading at an average price of 17.20 Ksh, with a total of 2,881,300 shares transacted on this day. Mumias Sugar Co. on the other hand traded at an average price of 7.6 Ksh with a total of 1,483,700 shares traded on this same day.

My Point?

As you compare between Uchumi and Access Kenya, you may want to consider the following;

1. Determine if it is a fair comparison to start with.

2. Do your individual research and only use opinions expressed on this forum as part of the material information in your research.

3. Make your decision based on the outcome of your individual research and investment objectives.

A year from now you may be happy with the outcome of having invested in Uchumi or Access, depending on how well you do your homework.

One thing is for sure.

Opportunity is now here! As opposed to Opportunity is nowhere!
