How about giving the country back to the people. Why not let the Kenyans own their problems without interference of 'orders from above'.
In the US,every little village in the middle of a 'bible state' has a law in the form of a sheriff. The interesting bit is that the job of Sherrif has been passed from father to son for the past 300 years. Now this sounds ridiculous but it works for this small group.
Now fast forward to Newyork and the mayors job is an interview for the presidency. The current mayor is one of the richest and brightest man in the world, the one and only Michael Bloomberg. The mayor is directly responsible for everything from education to security, there are no powers from above.
Now why can't we have the same scenario here in kenya. The people of pokot are better off left to police themselves as all they care about is their cattle and they already have AK 47's. Likewise Nairobi should have an intelligent mayor who should take direct responsibility for every thing. Should be directly elected and answerable to Nairobians.
Our current problem is that we are looking for a single fix for the whole of kenya, thats impossible as we are 40 million people of different backgrounds and needs,we need to break down the needs of our people and acknowledge that different parts will need different things.
Example if you look at education in kenya, the private institutions are doing much better than the public ones, and this is from nursery - university. The reason is simple,no red tape and orders from above, they don't need to wait half the day for Prof. Sam to bring a box of chalk so learning can start.
Phew, that was a rant. Now for some cappuccino.
I guess if you can't win with facts, you can always pen bile-laced,xenophobic rants to distract everyone.
