Uchumi customer loyalty? Can you quantify that? I think nakumatt has much much more loyalty making what they'll get from uchumi not very significant. On a light note, the uchumi sandwiches at ngong rd.... Omg! Those things will see uchumi through!

Any busines where a broke gvt is a big share holder and cannot pump in capital exept tax incentives??calls me to watch from the sidelines.

Truth be told those sandwiches are a major ripoff, but a good earner. A sandwich for ksh 140, for the same amount I can buy the same ingredients at the same place and make two.
BTW Walmart have just concluded purchase of a chain in South Africa and plan to use the acquisition to move to fourteen Afican countries.

Uchumi has the people's goodwill,that's as far as wishing goes. Went to a branch where they've labelled a utility table 1200, while at a nearby Naivas was 800 bob. wondered whether Uchumi is really determined in competition..

Uchumi should refresh itself completely, including its name and logo, that way I (and some of us) can think about it differently. Otherwise il'd rather even gamble with Naivas or Tuskys :)
