@2012, thanks. I also shared the same concerns about the merger but mostly about loss of a great brand S&L had built for itself. Nevertheless, I believe it still holds as KCB S&L. On the other hand the results of the merger resonate positively with me 100% i.e KCB S&L having access to the whole Group's branch network & balance sheet means MEGA lending ability. @my friend Barry White...I know it is easy for us to conclude that the mortgage/real estate mkts have more or less "self propelled" but I am also a firm believer that money on its own is useless; the mind behind it makes all the difference (a fool & his money are soon parted) so it pays to have a great mind over-seeing our interests i.e and IMHO, C. Kariuki. @Selah.. In the context I mean't otherwise and Cde is short for Comrade. smile

Dr. Tony Githuku should also be retained or even offered the COO job.

A company i worked with had a chance to discuss business with him; he strongly resisted lucrative overtures and some unorthodox suggestions that zealous foreign directors offered.

He had a very clear mind on what he wanted to achieve for the bank, and his passion and purposefulness was amazing.

The way he steered the bank during the IT system change is laudable. If they let him go, there goes a whole heritage of excellence, incorruptible and rare type of pedigree IT manager. And of course i shall reduce my exposure with KCB and close that account....

A company i worked with had a chance to discuss business with him; he strongly resisted lucrative overtures and some unorthodox suggestions that zealous foreign directors offered.

Note to self - find out who the IT manager of the company is before you buy its stock.
