The statutory requirements for a curios business are:
1. Curios
2. Customers who want to buy curios

Anyway, all jokes aside, someone please explain how this business goes, as I am very curious as well

I did it once but to Europe ( Curios and Fish flies) and it is good, very good. It has seasons though.

There are no government restrictions. The only trick is getting customers. It would be very beneficial if you got a contact person there, a go between, even a partner. Should be trusted and traceable.

Customers you can get from the internet then be sending via DHL etc.
Be careful thence, You may get a customer who will guide you along from samples, to small consignments, to bigger consignments ( note all paid for as per agreement), then to the mother of all consignments which will never be paid and alas!! what a loss it might be.
Always insist on getting a downpayment of 50% and price your goods such that even with the 50%, you have your profit.
Above all alse, Guard thine heart with all diligence, because from it are issues of life... Prov4:23. Email: afroknight@ymail.com or domainagencies@yahoo.com

@KenyaLyrics, you are on the mark. The 4Ps of marketing:
Product. These are the curios
Place/Packaging. The US. Challenge should be how to deliver them to the market - the export licenses, import licenses, mode of transport, customs clearances, distribution system etc.
Price. What price will cover the costs of production, ensure a fair return and appeal to the market
Promotion. Marketing.
@GIGABITE seems to have covered only the first one and a little wee bit of the second.
More importantly, isn't somebody else already doing this, in which case, what will be the differentiator?
