I pity Wenger. His assistant is on his way out. Cesc, Nasri and Clichy are also ready to bolt. Wenger's holiday plans have to be cancelled. He has to rebuild a new team almost from scratch. Tough job

The assistant manager is retiring, that means the club has to bring in a replacement....i've seen rumours linking the club with Ray Wilkins who's very good in "defensive football" i hope Wenger will not block the move. Cesc should be sold to Barca for atleast 40m pounds....Nasri's agent has already declared that his client will remain at Arsenal and they are in talks to extend his contract. As for Clichy, we already have a ready made replacement in Kieran Gibbs though i don't see the Frenchman going anywhere. Real Madrid are also said to interested in him and maybe we can use Clichy as a swap plus cash for Benzema.

@Fundamentali, stop believing everything Football365 is telling you. Wenger will let some players go - thats ok. He will buy some. He will also get a fresh face for assistant manager, who hopefully will give him fresh ideas. Wachana na rumour mills.

I heard on radio that Sir Alex had actually been approached by Arsenal to become their coach before he went to Man - U but luckily for the Devils the move fell through.

Arsenal's loss and our gain.

All said and done, Wenger has done pretty well at Arsenal and he should continue. As for a change of approach, that goes without saying.

He declined going to Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs. He actually continued coaching at Aberdeen before joining United in November 1986 when a one Ron Atkinson was sacked.

Liverpool have been waiting for the last 20 yrs so we don't mind holding on to the 13 we've won so far, for now.

Same happened with Christiano Ronaldo. The board was waiting for him in the boardroom to put pen to paper and Christiano never showed up after reaching an agreement. The deal was hijacked. ManU's assistant manager Quaroz or something like that promised to personally take care of his stay at ManU. They lost again.

Mainstream English media is never far from the truth. 11 first team players on their way out.

@ FundamentAli.....It was actually SAF who declared that juzi and not some rumour from the English press....same story for Ronaldo

Ronaldo admitted, “I was just an inch away from signing for Arsenal. I saw Arsene Wenger three times with my mother. It was very close to being a done deal. Really, we were within touching distance.

“Wenger remains someone that I still have immense esteem for and my mum feels the same way. After I signed for United she and I were sitting watching a Premier League game on television and she yelled out ‘I know that guy – I liked him!’”

We May have to sing this song to a number of the Gunners players and maybe Wenger in the very near future if things dont change the Aston Villa game was horrible for lack of another word.........

“Guess its over. Call it day. Sorry that it had to end this way. No reason to pretend. We knew it had to end some day. This way. Guess it’s over. What’s the use of trying to hang on? Somewhere we lost the key. So little left for you and me, and it’s clear to see.”Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

Fellow Gooners, allow me to pull up an interesting quote from Wenger himself, made in 2009:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 051143.stm"

Friday, 15 May 2009

Quote:
"If we do not deliver in one or two years I will be responsible," said the Frenchman, whose contract runs to 2011.
"It is the most important moment in the life of this club and we have to be strong now and support this team."

"We are going in the right track and everyone at the club is convinced we are doing the right thing.
"If we do not get there next year or the year after then you can say this was not the right way."

So Wenger said in 2009, that around 2011, if we still haven't won a thing, his policy has failed. In all fairness, according to his own terms, he has to go.
