Ahmednasir is twangaing wachamaa. No wonder some MPs were looking for a softer representative from the LSK.

Ahamednasir was a bad choice to represent LSK in the JSC,my take is he is becoming personal and harsh than a professional interviewer.Nktest !!!

Ahamednasir ni mkali...man, jana i was just empathizing with Riaga. you could clearly tell the guy was seething with anger. Then again, that guy is too old for that job, he seems a spent force. Visram would be my first choice... so far.
Jeez. Are these the guys who determines ppls fate?

sure spear..I also think he was a bad choice.his questions seem to be aimed at discrediting/embarassing the interviewee rather than assesing his/her capability.and whose 'brilliant' idea was it to show the interviews on live tv?

This is the best way, if you want to take a public office then you should be grilled in front of the public. After all don't politicians come to us and tell us why we should give them our votes?

BBI will solve it

I’m happy with Ahmednassir's approach. Despite (or maybe because) he has no diplomatic bone in him.
Especially when he’s asking the difficult questions concerning the considerations some of our judges make in passing their judgements. The law is supposed to be predictable and fairly certain. This can only happen if judges treat all litigants equally, and if they are consistent in what they are doing. How else can you tell what’s likely to happen in court. What we have now is a situation in which it is hard to determine the likely outcome in a case because a judge says this today and says something totally different tomorrow. Why? Obvious answers are corruption and lack of independence meaning thay are taking into consideration unrelated matters (like which side their bread is buttered on). Most of the intervierwees having it rough are those with questionable conduct. As a Kenyan, I’m happy to know. His job is not to massage any candidate’s ego. Whats the point of having a polite, formal interview where everyone is smiling and relaxed but where you dont get the next CJ’s take on these unexplained issues in their CV?
On a lighter note: Imagine Ahmednassir as a diplomat...say, our Ambassador to Uganda...

Ushasema. If you cannot stand the uncomfortable scrutiny, stay out of the public service. The CJ must be a person of thick skin because the job ahead si ya kuchezewa. And I think Ahmednassir did not assign himself the role of the tough guy. Might be a move by the JSC to have one person turn on the heat. The other commissioners are too soft. Some of them are even answering the question on behalf of the interviewee! Laughing out loudly

Always liked him. There are those who claim that he is a gatekeeper and all that but I personally like him as a person and as a judge. Would prefer him or Ang`awa J as a CJ.

For wazua learned friends:
Whats does the draft law on vetting of judges and magistrates say? What format will be used? From these interviews of CJ, there is need for them to worried. Kama ni mimi napatiana resignation rather than face Ahmednasir to ask me about my second lower degree!
