Tha fact is that the police are not only targeting the pimped mats.....in some routes all the mats are victims,it daint matter how the matter looks like!!!!

Make money.....then you will enjoy all the fine things in life!!!

The problem is that even cooperates who have high compliance rate are also victims.

In this particular case,I will support the police. Those matatus gave me a heart attack the first time one crossed right infront of me.

They should all be completely removed from the roads otherwise Kenyans will die in larger numbers every day. I'm I the only one who loves going with double m's,and city hoppers? Hi ingine ni a death trap and unfortunately Kenyans never seem to want to understand that.

Instead of spending hundreds of thousands on terrible music systems and 'pimping',they should find some better use for their money. For example,if there is a cop taking bribes,I am sure they can buy a 20k video camera and record the cops taking bribes on their routes.

However,I still wonder how you are going to know who is a tout,or a mungiki or a cop?

It is useless seeking support from the public. They are always anti matatu. Question is when the cops are through with matatus will they turn their attention to busses or private motorists? They are used to easy money you know. The police action is making investors in the transport sector quit. What shall the likes of mungiki do? Start charging protection fee from private motorists?

It is doubtfull if the government will respond to the strike, with coalition politics roaring around. Besides the government is desperate to fill the gaping budgetary deficit using court fines levied upon traffic offenders. Perhaps the matatu operators should simply raise the fares to recoup losses arising from police extortionists.

I expect the strike to loose steam today,as hunger replaces anger. Has the situation on the ground improved? I can see some activity on ngong road, kikuyu road, gitanga road, valley road,Argwings Kodhek road.... Things are still at a standstill in limuru
