Red soil has an upper hand in land development as it is ideal for construction, farming and landscaping.
That is why you see ppl buying red soil to cover other soils for planting.
You don't have to dig deep in Red soil areas for a house foundation. Come to Karen and see how deep we have to dig before putting up a foundation. The soil cakes leaving large fissures which can make a foundation unstable when its dry season and does not allow water to percolate down in wet season.
Houses built on rocky areas become part of the basement rock and makes the house vibrate from simple tremors to heavy vehicle rolling near by.
Red soil is created by weathering and thus mineral rich which is good for farming or flower beds unlike peat and black cotton soils or sand etc.
Go overdrive in purchasing the goods when there's blood on the streets, expecially if the blood is your own
