But Carbacid went all the way to 320 in 2009 when they were admitted back to bourse...how come they didn't sell then? Also read somewhere they paid 150 Ksh a share...i think they're just trying to shore up this years earnings.

That cant be possible because their year end is march 31st..
And it is no secret they are selling their equity holdings to fund their real estate venture.

Apart from Jubilee, something else we share in common. Let's wait and see.

Do you mean shoring up?.If they bought at 150 at 130 it means they have more than doubled their investment considering the 2 for every 1 bonus shares issued,i would do the same if i sensed Carbacid's growth into the future may not be robust.

@ guru.....the market they plan to enter is way too saturated.....every tom dick n kamau is into real estate these days......also the first 2.8M shares or so were sold before March 31st.....btw, there is also a 30% capital gains waiting for these guys on the other end.....

I dont think CARBs growth is stunted....with the entry of Pepsi and sparkling water(albeit a small part) will probably be exported to various eastern/central african countries...and they obviously need a boat load of CO2....then again time will tell.....

@Guru....u still a fan of JUB?? they made money solely coz of "investment income" which isnt their core business....its a part of any insurance business but by no means a measure of their CORE BUSINESS.... whaddaya think??

Horton people are in real estate cause there is DEMAND. Until a time when supply is more than demand, then...
Concerning Jubilee, it is a HOLDINGS company, as guru has clearly put it before

Which is the lesser evil, centum or the soon to be listed transcentury.

if centum's 2010 annual report and HY 2010-2011 were love letters, they're doin hell of a good job kuniingiza box! damn!

But many a man that fell inlove with the dimple, made the mistake of marrying the whole girl. Needs careful trending this one. The market comfort zone that they have is now endangered. pinning a position on this one is hard, so my answer is what any man with two willies would answer when asked which side he leans- get in half way, wait for more news(may be release of final results, then decide on the next step.

Transcentury is more of an equity fund as opposed to Centum that are in it for quick profits(kind of reminds me of investment banks and crazy growth).
I'm in it for money period & the one that gives more is where i'll be.
