Hi Guys,

Thanx alot for the encouraging feedback that you've given me. I am already feeling like i ought to have discovered this Stocks Forum ages ago..

I am not very green with "other non-stocks" investments and i have the basic foundation of doing business; i still trust my radar for sniffing a good shilling and i have started feeling the fire in my belly.

I have already opened a CDS account and deposited some quid today. I have read old posts here and a lot of print materials allover. My palms are sweating and i am eager to place my bet now after considering my objectives.

1. Long-term - 4yrs & Over -

EQUITY,KCB,KPLC,CO-OP

2. Medium Term - Btwn 2yrs and 4 yrs-

CENTUM,HFCK,CABLES

3. Short-term - Btwn 1 yr and 2 yrs-

KENOL,TOTAL,MUMIAS,K-RE

4. Rapid response - speculative/trading/During the year-

SAFARICOM, ACCESS,( Can't rule out EQUITY,KCB,CO-OP )

Guys, does this sound sensible so far ?

WHY THESE?

My opinion is that you are considering too many counters...

... you will not be able to keep up with all of them...

... you won't make much money if you spread it so thinly...

... if you just want to save its ok to diversify...

... but in that case, its better to get into Unit Trusts...

@ Genghis Khan

I get you..avoid spreading thin is a good point but also depending on how much booty you are looking at.

I may not necessarily take up all the counters but these are the tentative counters i am training my eyes on to start with.

I am taking the plunge with KCB 1st, once it touches lowest 20's

Does it pay to wait for an already cheap counter to become cheaper? Research shows that this strategy doesnt not work...

If you feel a stock is cheap at current prices especially relative to its peers then take the plunge in it...

To use KCB as an example... The only reason for this fall is the presence of a large retail shareholder base who are currently exiting to get cash for easter and school fees... But no guarantee it will fall further because it is cheap at current levels
