If you are feeling sufficiently European, try the Tiguan. Rav4 and X-Trail have really good reviews in Aussie and European markets though. CRV too. Subaru Forester Y2008+ is another one too.

Thanks @JKMwatha. Very interesting discussions indeed. How much would a UK 2004 xtrail cost before duty?

@Tuvok, I am definitely not feeling sufficiently European. A car is not meant to bankrupt someone!

UK 2004 Xtrail - CIF Mombasa ksh650k - 900k depending on mileage/condition/specs...

VW Tiguan's a very nice compact crossover....worth its value.

ati out of curiosity? its ok just say you want to buy.

The earliest Tiguan in UK is likely to be a 2008.

CIF MSA
Auto ksh 2.7m +
Manual ksh2.2m +

Duty should be just below 1.1m

Auto 3.8m + clearing/reg.& cost of delivery

Probably ksh3.9m at your door.

If you want a tiguan it will make more sense to buy it new from cmc, i bought my mum one for 4.5M last year. Otherwise wait for some few years for the price and taxes to fall.

Between the crv and x-trail, they are both good cars and you won't go wrong with either one of them.
Before you can be be old and wise, you must first be young and stupid.
