The game against Man City calls for a Rooney - Chicharito partnership as opposed to Berbatov - Chicharito partnership. Rooney's persistence and energy coupled with Chicha's speed and predatory instincts is just what you need in such a game.
Let's hope Berba will surprise me on the day though. But I guess this development confines him to the bench - again - in the CL second leg match against Chelsea.
My fellow fan ningependa kukukosoa, unless I have misinterpreted. The ban covers the Fulham game at home this Sato and the SEMI against Man City Rooney missing the Semi is painful, I hope Berba and Chicha come through...the Fulham game is at home but Fulham look resurgent - I hope there are no spanners thrown there. And on that note the FA can go to hell! @MaichBlack/Smano...............Your sentiments have been noted. Further to that, my concern is the disruption that the ban may cause on Rooney. The issue may not even be the two matches he is scheduled to miss but the effect the ban will have on him upto to the end of the season. Sometime back, Rooney used to pick some very "silly" bookings because of the competitive nature of his game. SAF attempted to put some breaks on his temper but soon realised that temperament and his competitive nature go hand-in-hand. Unlike players like say CR7, there is something extra about Rooney in that he almost plays like he is involved in amateur soccer, where one plays like a fan. Well unfortunately its only players who vote and you can't even vote for your own teammate. I know he has also played well for Man Utd throughout the season but the fact that he hasn't won any "player of the month award" illustrates what his football peers think of his performance. .....you forget so fast dude, sometimes back you were praising Wenger for being manager of the century, then you defended him for winning yet he had not won the award in any of the last ten years!!!!! Yes i did because the award was calculated by combining the results of the previous 10 years (not what you won in one season) of the International Football Federation of History & Statistics manager-of-the-year. Hakuna mambo ya votes hapa. The winner will be announced on 17th April. http://www.independent.c...ominations-2263068.html
@TAZ.........You are very wrong. Suppose, say nasri won the award only for the month of August last year(the award was actually won by scholes). On the other hand suppose Vidic has been runners-up for all the months(of coz they dont mention who the runners-up was).........When it comes to the final vote, between nasri and vidic, whom do you think stands a better chance of winning it? Its that simple my brother. Its all about consistency in the season not just about getting the award in one or two months. Its not by chance that somebody who has not won the monthly award makes the final shortlist. IF YOU EXPECT ME TO POST ANYTHING POSITIVE ABOUT ASENO, YOU MAY AS WELL SIT ON A PIN

@Mwenza.....What i'm simply trying to say is that the fact that Vidic hasn't won any "player of the month" award which is same as the "player of the season" only that its done on a monthly basis, somehow gives us an idea of what to expect come April 17th. How sure are you that he's been runners-up in any month. I haven't said Nasri will win but he's chances are as good as any other nominee. The front runner for me is still Gareth Bale....Vidic has been very good this season but his performance has been more of consistent than impressive (kama David Luiz hivi).
Btw Javier Hernandez is in the list of PFA Young player of the year...though i think this will go to Jack Wilshere.

@TAZ - Is it that you sincerely don't understand these stuff or you just want to irk certain individuals? @Mwenza has explained to you very nicely. Player of the Month is awarded to a player who had an outstanding month. The Player of the Year is awarded to the player who had an outstanding year/season. You don't have to be the most outstanding in a given month to get the award. The key word is consistency! Other players might be outstanding in a given month and play miserably in the other months - or not play at all. If you are consistently among the best 3 every month, chances are that you'll be the Player of the year. Never count on making a good sale. Have the purchase price be so attractive that even a mediocre sale gives good returns.

Second place is a success - Wenger...Wenger claims that the season can still be deemed successful even without a trophy... ..."If there is someone better than you, you have to accept it one day. And that's exactly like us in the competition. If Manchester United is better than us, we have to say congratulations. What is important is that we give absolutely everything to beat them - and that is, for me, success." said Wenger...
What a loser. Seriously!? This is typical loser mentality. I pity Arsenal fans!!! Second place is success??? How comes I was gutted when we finished second last season - losing by only one point. I wouldn't want that feeling again - yet Wenger considers it success! Sad in deed. Never count on making a good sale. Yep! He rarely understands. I have come to understand that about him. @Taz, the word SUPPOSE simply means 'Lets say' or 'Lets assume'.@mwenza never said Vidic was runners up to the monthly award. He actually said they don't mention them. He said 'suppose...'. Jeez! Luck is when Preparation meets Opportunity. ~ Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Either that or he doesn't understand the meaning of the word "suppose". As far as he is concerned I must have said that Nasri isn't taking it because Vidic will run away with it. He even had the guts to wonder loudly who tells me that Vidic was always runners-up. Kweli Kizungu sio rahisi. He will soon tell us, like mr bean, finishing second is a huge success. With only six matches to go, the team of the moment has opened up an almost unassailable ten point gap at the top of the EPL. More importantly, SAF made eight changes to the wednesday starting line-up. Apparently Rooney would have been on the bench even if he wasn't suspended. Good luck to those pretenders playing catch-up, they will soon run out of matches before they know it. IF YOU EXPECT ME TO POST ANYTHING POSITIVE ABOUT ASENO, YOU MAY AS WELL SIT ON A PIN

i really wonder whether some people here understand how the "FA player of the year" is awarded and i don't think i'll even bother to explain....tumia internet kuresearch. On another note do you people know how many times Vidic has been nominated for this award na ameshinda ngapi? No single player has stood out this season thats why i think Gareth Bale will be voted the winner because of the biasness players, media and FA have towards British players.

I believe Vidic's performance has been fairly good this season but aren't you the same people who earlier in the season were complaining that Man Utd defense was conceeding too many goals???

What you need to bother yourself in doing is to understand first what is being said without rushing to respond. And while you are at it, check the meaning of 'SUPPOSE' on Oxford dictionary, or the internet. Na naona leo umepata sauti after your game. @Jus Blazin.... Hapa hakuna mambo ya "suppose" , "what if" ama "lets assume". There's no need of posting so many responses to one topic based on assumptions.

Frankly speaking I don't care who wins the PFL, I just want Man Utd to win the league so that the cup is back in its rightful place...anything else will be a bonus. If I was voting, I'd vote for Vidic, not because he's a Man Utd player, but coz I haven't seen outstanding performances from Nasri and Bale in the 2nd half of the season as they had when the campaign begun. @Smano..Thank you, that's fair enough. Nasri and Bale have been a bit quiet in the second half of the season but then again Vidic had a poor first half....by "poor" i mean the number of goals conceded at the back. I think that's a fair way of analyzing his performance. So many people have been critical of Arsenal's defense, which i don't dispute but very few realize that so far this season our defensive record is among the top three (after Chelsea and Man City) in terms of goals conceded.... I think it would be wise to end this "player of the Year" discussion now because April 17th si mbali.
In other news, i was really impressed by Lehman's performance yesterday especially in the way he controlled the defensive players. That reminds me, we played the full 90 min without a keeper available on the bench...hate to think what would have happened had Lehman been sent off.
